Now about that cognitive dissonance: if Biden is too mentally incompetent to stand trial (proven a few months ago, and ignored by his fanatic partisans), and if he is too mentally incompetent to be a candidate for the office of president - by his own admission (forced by the party bag holders) - isn't he too mentally incompetent to be holding that office at present?

If there was a quick fix for his declining memory (e. vitamin K) his physicians ought to have found it by now.
So the probability is that there isn't a fix and his mental abilities will further decline over the next few years.

There is therefore his mental condition now, and what it will most likely be over the next four years.

The latter may require his withdrawal as a candidate now, but the former may not require his resignation just yet.

Ronald Reagan went into decline in his last year. Joe Biden may finish his last 5 months as a lame duck invalid.

Having said that I half await a conference of doctors concluding he step back from nearly all his duties.

At his age, with nothing to look forward to anymore re: presidency, his physical and mental activity might just precipitously drop enough to the point that he simply resigns and Harris is president.

It is almost 6 months until he leaves the office officially. With how the world turns anymore, anyone want to be that he'll actually, well, do anything substantive in that time?
