When I load Civ IV up I can't even see the opening movie. When I get to the menu (what I assume is the menu) and the world is revolving I have a problem. No menu is shown.

When I press enter long enough or hit the right spot with my mouse it goes to a game where sid meiers introduces himself. I can't see any of the interface in the game only the units and have to use the keyboard to make them do anything. After awhile it freezes. Anyone had this problem, and how did you fix it?

try posting ur specs and then the first place i would look at if u meet the min req is updating ur graphics card drivers...

THis is where I get stuck also. I'm on a laptop. I've tried some of the things on this site, but finally decided to just kick back and wait for the patch. (I'll be ok - I have civ3 :crazyeye:

Trying to get civ to run was taking away to much quality time actually playing civ. :D

I exceed the recommended requirements.

I have a
Athlon 64 3400 (2.4 GHs)
512 or RAm
NVidia Geforce 5200 256 ed.
200 gb 7200 rpm HDD
Windows XP

At a local library's computer right now so I can't remember anything else.

But the rotating world looks fine and there is no lag or slow down on it.
