biggest civ problems

I believe that the reload wasn't really reseeding and that the crash finally forced the resseding.

no, there was no crash. just random seed reloads...

i really wish i had actually saved just before that battle......
i'm going to go back in and just see if i can bring it back to the roughly the same thing and post the game. i'm pretty sure i saved close to it, but not exactly.... then anyone may have a look for themselves...

so far, shaka is long gone and i'm on the verge of a domination victory on prince difficulty... there's maybe 8 or 9 civilizations left out of 18... the game is taking forever... ugh...

You mean you didn't know? [Cliff Clavin from Cheers] You see, the weight of Jefferson's profile on the head of the nickel has been, er, scientifically shown to be less than the weight of, er, Montessouri on the back. So, Nahm, when you flip a nickel, you're, er, more likely to get yer Jefferson to fall heads up. [/Clavin]

:mischief:

I hope you're old enough to get that reference, btw. :old: :D

i am reluctant to admit i know the reference... does that mean i'm old????? :old:

Why don't you run an experiment to support your claim with something besides vague anedotes?

Record attacking 1000 times at the same odds and see what the actual results come out to be.

vague anedotes? :crazyeye:

well, anyway, i'm going to try to get that saved game file for ya'z

Did you complete battles in a different order once you reloaded? If you did then you will have the same list of odds but be at a different point, hence success.

Losing three times in a row with 80% chance of succes happens like once in 125 times. I always have way more battles in a Civilization IV game than that, so it's bound to happen every once in a while. Just like it happens that I win 3 battles in a row with 20% of succes. People just tend to remember the bad results and take the good results for granted.
