I was playing the earth 1000 ad and i was spain. My empire at its largest (1500s) had spain, the northern africa, eygt and the niles, all of the former Arabian empire, and greece and turkeys. I also have mexico, the 13 colonies area, New Orleans, and the middle of the USA. I also have Mali, Inca, Russia, and India as vassels. Whats your largest Earth map empire.

Screenshots, perchance?

Probably my Khmer Empire on the Earth 1000 AD map: Arabia, North Africa, Europe, China, Mongolia, India, Middle East, SE Asia, Australia, and a city or two in South America.

I remember that story - that was amazing, I can't believe you abandoned it.

Anyway, my biggest empire was also Spain, in the regular Earth map. I owned all of mainland Europe, including most of Scandinavia, northern Africa and Mali, Russia, Persia, the middle east, India, and most of China. I believe I had some very productive colonial possessions in Brazil and Argentina. Of course, my far east empire ended up falling to Mongolia (I misunderestimated his tech level, apparently my vassal Mansa was trading with him.) when he fielded a stack of 35 riflemen (IN THE 1800S!?!?) and ended up taking most of China, and killing my vassal Qin. I made peace with him, but Mali, (Which spanned all of sub-Saharan Africa and most of South America) broke away, and he and Mongolia DoW'd on me. I held off another massive stack of Riflemen, and a couple of Calvary coming from Mali. I ended up escaping in my spaceship a few years later.

That was one of my most fun games ever. But really, Mongolia?

watch out for mongolia! On my spainish game i also was bugged by mongolia. China eventaly sent Mongolia to its grave though. Maybe the mongolia is stronger when you are Spain?

I was playing a Earth 1000AD as Arabia (civ4 vanilla, unpatched). I control all of Australia, Europe, North America, Africa and most of Asia. I ended up voting myself diplo victor when conquering the rest of Europe, but I continued the game anyways.

My largest empire was as germany on Earth 18 Civs. It spanned all of Europe, all of Asia, North Africa, Oceania. I had India and China as Vassals and China covered Oceania.

New personal record in 1000 AD (Vanilla): I unlocked the Byzantines and the Vikings from MinorCivs to Playable, and it was amazing. The Byzantines dominate because of their troop level and central position. I also changed the diplomatic structure to:

Vikings v France, England, Holy Rome
Arabia v France, England, Holy Rome, Spain, Byzantium, Russia, India
Byzantium v Holy Rome
China v Mongolia

I then added the Permanent Alliance and Aggressive AI options, and played as the Byzantines.

Saladin started strong, holding onto Cordoba and taking Ujjain from India. I managed to take Syracuse from Holy Rome, then followed that up with Jerusalem, Mecca, and Cairo. Spain took Cordoba, while Peter began to aggressively settle Russia, eventually colliding with Mongolia. Leftover troops took Rome and Baghdad, and the Vikings managed an amphibious invasion, taking Aachen (changed the Roman capital, moved it 1 NW). Holy Rome was dead. I sped up and starting taking European cities, finally taking out Cordoba in the 1600s. With a European production base, I managed to finish off Saladin and India. Then I just settled down for a Space Race VIctory.

Fun.

You could've gotten a domination victory, man. Why didn't you invade Africa/China/Russia?

The problem I have with Earth maps is that, while fun, they take wayyy too long to play, and my comp isn't strong enough to manage moving dozens, if not hundreds of units around every turn. If I could, I would, but I can't.

And to answer your earlier question, my Installshield Installation Wizard became corrupted, and AFAIK is unfixable without reinstalling XP. So, when I tried to patch to 3.17, it failed. I couldn't uninstall BTS, so I went into regedit and deleted the BTS entries. The disk is fine, but now I can't reinstall it. So I was forced to abandon my game.

I'm planning on reinstalling it soon, though, so I may be able to pick =up where I left off (though I doubt it, the save is probably lost somewhere).

My largest empire was on Earth 36 Civs (with Wolfshanze mod)
i played as the Americans and i got off to a fantastic start... i got all the good spots in America and founded christianity (choose religions> got it from code of laws) then spread it to all my neighbors... then conquered sitting bull, montezuma, pacal, and finally as i discovered astronomy and was meeting all my european fellows, i killed huayna capac. I founded 6-8 more cities in south america and now controlled an American empire from north to south of 40 ,extremely big and productive, cities.
Then after 60 turns of golden ages (starting with taj mahal wit combination of mausollem of mausaullos) i created a GINORMOUS army of 155 navy seals on transports and conquered all of europe... burnt down every city in Africa and finally just for fun Nuked all of cambodia vietnam china and mongolia.
My empire stretched from all of the Americas (jncluding alaska) to all of europe and the middle east and middle asia, japan (and the pacific islands like phillipines and new guinea) and australia.
I was so surprised i managed to be so succesful at monarch difficulty.
then again the Americas has the most beautiful land in Earth map plus my Amazon cities were all on grasslands and were all at least 20+ pop with many specialist and temples with angor wat.
oh and when the game ended all the civs were my vassals except mongolia who stubbornly forced me into a domination victory.
