Black and back

I'm running Civ 5 on my boot camped mac using windows xp, same way I played civ 4, but it won't run it. It wouldn't run the demo either. It seems fine during install but when I try to play it goes black for a second and then straight back to the previous screen. Steam even says I've played it "last time played is today" it will say as if it actually worked at all. Any Ideas on what I might have done wrong?

2.4 Ghz intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM, not sure how to read my video spec it's like GMA X3100 and then the V-ram is 144 MB. That's probably the isuue actually. isn't minimum 256MB? so assuming I'm reading it right..

yeah I saw that, I had my mc boot camped long before civ V and I did just install it normally. Think my vid card may be too weak.
