So, the British National Party is an extreme party in the United Kingdom. They want to deport all non-whites from the country while at the same time saying that they don't hate non-white people. I used to live over in the UK and I never knew anyone who supported the BNP (most people I knew supported Plaid Cymru). So, re the BNP a serious force in British politics, or are they just some radical fringe group that has little public support?

Also, Nick Griffin looks like a total nutcase, just saying.

The only use of keeping the BNP around is so folks can draw ready comparisons between the fascist overlords in V for Vendetta and McKellen 1995 movie adaptation of Richard III (which is brilliant, by the way) and the BNP.

This thread will get shut down I'm afraid Celtic. The BNP are not evil as they are commonly made out to be, but most of us in Britain have long ago had our freedom of speech removed on this issue and the kind of people responsible for that will continue it even to internet space. ;)

Indeed, the BNP has gone on record to say Hitler was bad. How evil can they be?

Going out of your way to say how Hitler was bad is the first step to become a successful extreme right party.

Are you implying the OT moderating staff is in on a thought suppression conspiracy with the British Crown?

Can you see the bottom of the pool from there?

Clearly the OT moderators are a front organisation for illuminati lizard-men working for the Queen.

nevermind...

It depends on what you mean by serious.
For one on the national stage they are not considered a threat to the established three parties in any form. In the recent local elections I believe they lost all their local councillors, so even for an unimportant job such as a councillor they fail to get any elected.
A few years ago they managed to do quite well in the EU elections, which frightened the establishment into making a noise about immigration, since then the BNPs fortunes have fallen even further.

Now I think they are having a fiscal crisis, they owe an awful amount of money which has led to a few members leaving and making another far-right party.

Didn't the UKIP get elected to the European Parliament or something like that a few years ago?

Link to video.
In answer to the thread's question, I'm going to go with no.

I can't remember which is more nutty: the BNP or the UKIP?

The BNP are the racist neo-fascists; UKIP are the "too extreme for the Tories" virulently Eurosceptic party, who still attempt to get elected to Europe anyway.
