BNW use G&K features?

I was thinking of getting BNW, are the features etc used in BNW or is it a stand alone xpac?

BNW includes all of the features of G&K (religion system, CS changes, combat mechanic changes, etc.), but does not include the G&K civs (except Ethiopia, which is carried across to BNW) and the G&K scenarios.

Yes, particularly if you are skipping G&K. Vanilla is just too painful to play.

Yeah, it's worth it. I'd wait for a sale to get both or get a version that has both just so you can get all the civs, but I do think it's worth it.

Gold upgrade that upgrades base Civ5 with G&K and all older DLC is actually pretty cheap.

Getting BNW plus gold upgrade is pretty good deal.
