Ok so Boff-05 izzy wizzy comes to a 'Hof'less halt as silver performs a Sloppy vassaldip win after stalling just to field cr3 mechs... Sounds painful if you ask a liq. Whatever, no SGOTM team ever wants us around, that's for sure!

So next Boff starts up and well this is our Well Groomed Host for Ice age hijinks!

Now First thing to notice about Meh is that Beard and Mustache. ZZ top could only dream of being that well groomed and yet still retain a bit of twirl! Second is to notice those Real Lambskin Reinforced PJ's, better than even that set of Vintage Wonder Woman Underos Cathy teases us with in between the back stabbings! Oh and don't even get a liq started on the awesome hue of his headgear and those Crinkly Eyes that whisper "I'm extra healthy baby"

In more mundane matters he's about as balanced as you expect someone with a beard like that to be. Organized and Expansive for almost everything half priced plus some health we prolly won;t be using on this map script .. oh and half priced civics so we can uh have another thing we claim half off! Hard to beat that!!!!

Starting techs of wheel and Agril are balanced though I'm sure someone out there (who is lacking such a finely shaved beard!) complains it doesn't include mining.

    UU is a musket that doesn;t blow.
UB is a happytime Duct so it won;t get perma skipped until 1800 AD like in poor Santiago!

So basic Map is for sure Standard Sized Ice Age with Wide Continents Epic speed on account too much green makes silver's stomach upset plus he's a big fan of TundraTimeEntertainment! Go leafs eh?

    Difficulty is Emporer
    Settings are Raging Barbs
    No Great Walls!!!

Assuming Grover is willing to put up with silver and Liq's Questionable Humor - er - Play again, and DiamondEye as well explicitly said he was up for more. RRRos... uh some other letters Liq's attention span is just too short to recall offhand.. has like a v in it tho!!!.. Heck he has a sexah avatar so all good! Expressed interest in the abuse a Boff-0 RNG is wont to Dish out so he's in!

So that's pretty much a full roster.

As always, 5 starts so we can pick up or down the ladder of best to suicidal 3+ fishie starts. Lord forbid we are forced to play some HOF worthy start!

All big pics so el spoiler tags!

    The Map Settings!
    Spoiler :

The First chance for the RNG to screw us over, the Maps!! keep in mind each map is a new start with completely new Set of psycho leaders. Only the Random Number Generator insists on having Toku 6ish tiles away!

With Ice Age Maps think massed Plains + Marginal Cows and a forced river so the capital meets the Minimum Livability Index..

    Map A (Marginal Cows? check!)
    Spoiler :

Pretty Standard Ice Age start though the river is sort of skimpy, at least the corn is on it.

    Map B(Polar Green)
    Spoiler :

How is that corn NOT irrigated:confused: Pigs on hill prolly eats one of the basic starter city's 3x hills :(

    Map C (What a view!)
    Spoiler :

Massed recursive river System and that wheat is in the middle of nowhere  Note all those mysteriously blank plains tiles that scream pony!

Map D (Bananas for River Pigs)
    Spoiler :

More hill pigs but least we can see the two Forest Riverside Plains Hills without having to guess.

Map E (Holy hammers! + Cowz!)
    Spoiler :

There's another flood plain in the NE corner but that's a metric ton of hills to feed

Honestly don't see a single map that eligible for *instant* rejection this time around though Liq is not liking the hammer potential of B.

seems a roster is hard to find haha so

    RRRwtf
    Silver
    Liq
    Loki
    DE

    Cheers!

Got caught up dealing with the ack noob sg hehe. Had to make up for all the whipping lost the last round, nothing like -4 happy for 30ish turns, gg for +8 happy caps!

real question is Emp? Raging Barbs?:crazyeye:

Rather not deal with immortal right yet until silver and liq are sure they can walk all over emp games. Ice Age map alone is enough variant to deal with imo, that script is just ugly.:goodjob:

Photoshop fun incoming at 1 am hehe.

    Cheers!

I am fine with these, we should just forbid ourselves the GW so we have all the fun that goes with the variant

But you choose a nice leader for a low food environment (1 pop whip of granaries and lighthouses, 2 pop whip courts) :goodjob:

This came up in Boffo 5 but, how much does a Woodsman III + Medic III unit heal in a turn? 35% to units in the same and the 8 adjacent tiles?

iirc it's 35% on the tile and 25% in the first ring :)

Yeah No wall sounds fine. I'll roll the starts soonish.

    Medic 1 = 10% same
    Medic 2 = 10% adjacent (bah indeed)
Medic 3 = 15% same AND Adjacent (needs Great General attached)

    Woods3 = 15% same.

So it's actually 40% same tile, 25% adjacent.

Very Few leaders have an honest Shot at an early medic 3 woods 3 healer because it needs 7 promos all told (to open medic without Red Cross, one needs combat 1 or Drill 1).

Mony's jags start with 2 of those promos actually (woods1 and combat) such that he's the easiest leader to grab a true super medic with... ironic really.

Baud comes in second being aggressive for the free combat promo and charismatic for the cheaper promos.

Third is Churchill who is Charismatic and Protective but archers cannot get woods promo. England has to wait til Gunpowder to nail an easy super medic.

The best overall view on super medics is over at
    http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=303558&highlight=great+general+promotions

The book on medics + more with leadership is over at
    http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=251640&highlight=super+medic

    Things to think about...
Only units that can get woods 3 are melee and gunpowder.

Woods 1-3 means that your medic is going to be one of the top stack defenders when defending against a counter attack unless it's like a warrior. Very easy to get your woods 3 medics killed off hehe.

Mounted units (a few UU's excepted) never receive defensive bonuses which means VERY high survivability for that chariot! Sure it can never get woods 3 but then a living medic is better than a dead one eh?

    Cheers!

Haha Liq is a Sharks fan from day one (including those dark dark Cow Palace days). San Jose's short history Highlights choking in the 2nd round of the playoffs and this year isn't looking any different! Sharks Cannot compare to the suck which is Toronto though, that takes Decades of suck to achieve :D. Poor Silver!

Editing in the maps in the first post and after all that, well if Liq closes his eyes all he see's are river side plains tiles.

    Cheers!

My money on map A... cows are one tech away from being improved (and chariots if horses nearby), and riverside corn with agriculture is too good to pass up...

No hockey team can or ever will be comparable to how bad the leafs are. The only possibility in North American sports is if Yankees get as bad as them for an extended period of time without cutting their spending. No complaints about a Sharks fan, pretty much if the Leafs lose I am happy.

yeah A is nice as well as E as those floods are screaming to get farmed hehe.

    Liq can hang with A.

Need to wake up silver and not sure if Grover wants to put up with us anymore to be honest hahaha.

You want to go First there when everyone has chimed in RRRRRRR?

No worker farming unless it's Toku!

    Cheers!

Checking in. Actually all the starts look pretty amazing for an ice age map.

A's riverside corn is amazing on this mapscript, and we can even go chasing DE's favoured cows! :p

Otherwise, well E is nice due to floods acting like nice little rows of rice.

lol, no argument here. The Leafs are terrible, and the only thing worse is the hordes of mindless rubes who routinely make each and every game sold out even though there's better than even odds that they'll lose. Considering how much money MLSE has, you'd think they'd bother to put a good team on the rink, but I guess they feel no need to because they sell out every game anyways.

I much prefer to watch the Boy's of Summer, who in this city have at least actually won a championship in my lifetime (back to back I might add).

I can play some turns tomorrow if that's OK with the team (Cavaleiros will probably :whipped: me for the added delay on my mtdg homeworks but hey)...
What map will we use? it seems A and E are still in the race :)

edit: I almost forgot, when do we discuss soccer? :p

ok yeah play map A unless grover pops up really wanting E... then we draw straws or uh bet on football. Liq was a Nottingham Forest fan when he lived in England hehe... nothing like getting drunk with the hooligans and throwing stuff at the away team.

Doesn't seem worth moving that settler since it's lose a turn to stay on the river.

    Cheers!

    :nono:

Yeah I see no reason to move... AH -> BW for techs, worker -> warrior(s) for builds?

Only issue I see is that with barbs running rampant do we really have time to rush out AH mining then bw only to find no ponys or copper anywhere close as Boff's always are? Not too sure how soon barbs appear at emp.

Anyway if we might need to fall back on p0 archers, would hunting-> AH make more sense since we discount the ah. Not sure the timings without opening the game and playing with the tiles. Least the worker can farm and road crap right out of the gate

But otherwise yeah, ah and bw are key end techs here.

    Map A save is below.

    Cheers!

You are right, better not taking any chances with raging barbs. Hunting -> AH -> archery (if no horses) -> BW seems safer...
