Recently ran into a mildly annoying collection of circumstances that resulted in my completion of the Bolshoi Theatre and only getting a 3-turn civic boost! Just wanted to moan, groan and see if anyone had experienced a similarly traumatic experience, or if this was a one-off glitch / bug.
The stage was set as I began work on the Bolshoi and closed off the Reformed Church civic so as to not roll it as one of the freebies. A couple of turns later I've completed Urbanization and upgraded two crossbowman to boost Scorched Earth over the line - leaving Natural History as my ONLY remaining civic option. Unfortunately, two turns later the Bolshoi completes - and to my dismay, finishes Natural History as the only boost. Curses! Instead of two free civics, I basically get half of the current one I'm working. Not a particularly efficient use of resources, as it turns out.
I assume that had I simply delayed completion of the wonder by 3 turns and opened up the Civic Tree post-NH, I would have gotten my two random civics without trouble ... A similar instance could theoretically happen if for some reason a player had gotten to the Modern Era and completed Capitalism and Cultural Heritage prior to completing Ideology, leaving it as the sole choice?
Any thoughts? Personal attacks on my silly mismanagement are welcomed as my disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.
