Bonaparte II Tournament Game #1 PBEM

Sweden has acted foolishly by declaring war upon the British Empire.

Dragoon Guards on patrol duty in Norway were stunned to see an unguarded artillary regiment moving though the mountains straight for them. They intercepted and destroyed the division. Merchantmen are being dispatched to retrieve the Guards as they are battle worn and their cover is now exposed.

In the British channel a Swedish merchantman was sunk by a patrolling Frigate. West of Denmark it was known to us a Swedish merchantman was around, ships dispatched to deal with it also discovered a brig, both were sunk.

Outside of London it became apparant that the French moved additional troops forward. Expecting another meager force an attack was ordered. The British suffered heavy casualties but managed to destroy several French infantry.

In the Mediterranean a patrolling Frigate spooted French ships off Sardinia. The British Armada was luckily nearby looking out for French movements and was called forward. The warships were utterly decimated and two East Indiamen were also sunk.

Victory in Denmark!

-Esbjerg was captured by the Prussian army. The city was lightly defended and no match for the Prussian army.

--Ulm captured after the fortress was pounded to dust by Prussian Artillery and Grenadiers.

Russia Breaks Through the Dardenelles

The Russian Empire has achieved its centuries old ambition of securing a warm water port. In an impressive example of co-operation between the Imperial Army and Navy, the Ottoman city of Canakkale has fallen following a bombardment made by gunboats of the Black Sea Fleet.

In a grand millitary offensive, involving both amphibious landings, cavalry shocks and artillery bombardment, and after much urban fighting, the city of London has finally yielded to the French Imperial army! :D

Generous rewards where given out to the soldiers participating, among those the newly created Legion D'honeur as a gigantic blow has been dealt to the Brittish! The strength royal navy has proved to be nothing but a myth as it has been totaly incapable of preventing us from shiping hundreds of troops between Calais and Dover!

On the continent all Brittish german holdings surrendered after nothing more than a fw brief skirmishes once the bid of the fall of their capital reached them.

The emperor would now like to extand a hand to the fallen Brittish empire, ask us for peace now and we'll seriously consider it. ;)

In order to show that France is willing to sign a peace treaty the French troops that has been sent to Portugal didn't attack rather the simply built camps outside the city walls of Oporto awaiting the brittish proposition...

You will get no peace from us! Britain will fight to last man! I guarantee you that French troops will pay with their lives for the carnage they have inflicted. We will not rest until not only are the French out of Britain but until the Union Jack waves upon the towers of Paris.

Death to the mad corsican!

Well, does't look like Diatribe is going to reappear. Unlikely we can get someone to take over now, so Spain is looking for some diplomacy.

I have kept out of things so far, and have a large undamaged Army and Navy as a consequence.

France, as my ally, I could really use some tech help from you. Spain is rich in gold...or perhaps there's something else you want?

British intelligence reported that Le Havre was somehow devoid of defenders. No standard waved. British troops quickly mounted sailing veseels and captured the city.

British troops surged out of all directions to retake London. The city was easily retaken.

In the mediterrannean remaining French ships as well as suriving land troops were annihilated. Two merchamten were also sunk by a Brig off Ajacio. In Portugal British troops lashed out at French cavalry destroying several divisions.

War!

Growing tired of Napoleons seemingly never ending greed for more land and power, Frederick Wilhelm III decided it is about time to teach the arrogant French a lesson in manners.

It is unfortunate that Sweden have decided to ally with the madman in Paris. We wish to extend a hand of peace towards our neighbors in the north. As a result, no military actions where taken against Sweden this month.

Prussian forces crossed the border and started attacking the French forces that had been busy attacking the Brits last month. Wave after wave of Prussian Dragoons, Hussards and Kurasiers attacked the French forces inflicting heavy losses.

It seems that attack all over the front where made;

-In the north, Prussian forces have liberated Hamburg and Brunswick. Numerous French forces in and around the cities where destroyed.

-Further south, Prussian forces have pushed deep into the French heartland. Mainz and Cologne was captured with light losses. The cities where lightly defended indeed.

Prussian losses where not insignificant, a lot of good Cavalry was lost against the French. But overall it was a massive victory for us so far.

The Swedish government is stunned by the foolishness of the Prussians. Any Prussian troops which enter Stralsbund's city limits will be attacked.

Nick,

You're Russia here, not Sweden. And the gift is for you ;)

SAS, we already discussed this. You know I'm going to stick with the alliance with France. Even though your offensive did inflict a lot of losses on France, I'm sure that together we can turn the tide and bring this war to your territory.

France is appaled to the state which Prussia has sunk. Begining a war with a sneak attack isn't going to make me treat you more kindly when you surrender you know :p
