Bonaparte II Tournament Game #5 PBEM

New alliance signed
This month, the leaders of Russia, Prussia and Austria met in Berlin and signed an alliance there.
Under the approving eyes of many spectators, the Prussian Chansellor held a harsh speech with this content:

*The Prussian emperor wants the Swedish oppressors of Stralsund to abandon the town, and give it to the Prussians. You get 2 months to leave the town, or it shall be attacked.
*The Swedes are urged to stop their war with the Russians, and cede Finland to Russia, or Prussian actions may follow.

So, to conclude: the Swedes get 2 months to cede Stralsund to the Prussians and Finland to the Russian, or Prussia will declare war on Sweden.

Sweden have received the demands put on the table by the Prussians. We will give some thought to this matter and give a formal reply once the demands have been considered throughoutly.

Munchen and Stara Zagora captured.

John, I think you should just occupy the Black Sea ports. It'll be easy to make peace again.

OK, I have taken Varna and Constanta, as agreed. My attitude is worshipful, so hopefully, Austria, you can make peace (or even better, alliance) on your turn.

We applaud our new Prussian ally's stance, and undertake to protect Prussian lands, as if they were the Rodina itself!

In the absence of a Swedish response to our Prussian ally's ultimatum, the war continues. However, sortie-ing from Vyborg, our Frigate HIMS Alexei was defeated by a small Swedish Brig! Our sailors are not ready yet to take on their expert opponents - but the bulk of the Russian army, with much of the heaviest 64pdr artillery, continues to approach Finland and Reval. Here, there will be no mistake. However, if the Swedes force us to fight to retake Reval, and annex Finland, the Russian armies will not stop until they are in Stockholm. We think the Swedes have been aware of this for some time, and admire their spirited resistance against overwhelming odds, but this is absolutely their last chance. By late summer, the attack on Reval will be underway, and any late Swedish surrender or attempts to negotiate will be ignored...We note the ungarrisoned state of many Swedish cities, and conclude that their army is already fully stretched. Oh, how we wish Paratroopers had been invented :D

Does the Austrian merchant ship at the opening of the Dardenelles wish to pass into the Black Sea? Assuming it does, the Russian guardship has been moved temporarily. The ships further up the Straights will be moved in their turn when the guardships are back in place.

Will traders wishing to pass in this area please notify the Admiral well in advance, so the blockade can be lifted? If their papers are in order, of course....;)

The Swedish diplomats is on its way to both Berlin and St.Petersburg this very moment. Rumors in Stocholm indicates that Sweden will agree to the demands.

After carefull consideration, King Gustav have made the following reply to the demands made by Prussia:

"Sweden will agree to the demands made by Prussia. Stralsund will be evacuated during the next two months and then ceded to Prussia. Helsingfors, Aabo and Wasa will allso be evacuated over the next two months and after that ceded to Russia.

We request two months for this operationm, so that the Swedish citizens in the cities can be evacuated along with the Swedish millitary personell.

It must be noted that while Sweden does recognize the millitary might of Prussia and Russia combined, we will not give any more territory as a result of Prussian threats of war. Any further demands will leave us with little choice than to fight to the bitter end using any means possible to achieve our aims and goals.

-King Gustav-

Agreed, then. ;)

You should have saved yourself (and me) the grief of fighting for Finland, SAS....

If it wasnt for Prussia, we would still be fighting ;)
