Davout's Corps, accompanied by elements of the Consular Guard, has landed in Kent and eliminated the British counter-attackers that caused Marshal Ney such grievous losses.

Only a few cavalrymen were lost in the assault, from Milhaud's veteran Cuirassier division. Although a regiment of Guard Grenadiers was mauled badly against the Highland Brigade, it was brought safely off in boats after the Scotsmen surrendered.

A further three divisions are now dug into the hillsides of the Kentish Weald. What have the English left to throw at us...?

After months of preperations, the Spanish army attacked British millitary targets all across the Spanish-Portugeese border. Spain is joining the war in support to our French allies and friends. Portugal and Spain will be united under the Spanish Crown.

The first city to fall was Oporto. After heavy attacks by Spanish artillery, the defenses crumbled and the infantry could move in unopposed.

Lagos fell in the same way. Spanish artillery pounding the British defenders to dust, and the infantry moving in to capture the city without facing opposition.

The most serious action took place against the British fort outside Lisbon. Alot of good artillery and howitzers where destroyed in the attack, but the fort could not hold against the superior numbers the Spanish where able to field. The British troops in the fort where quickly put out of action.

The still fresh Spanish infantry and a mobile artillery attacked Figueira and captured the city.

In the atlantic, a British cargo vessel was sunk by a Spanish Brig.

This only leaves Lisbon under British controll. And we expect the city to fall within 3-4 months.

Spain kindly ask France to aid Spain scientifically, to improve the standard of the Spanish army. This will enable up to fight our common enemy more efficiently.

France agrees to the request of her brave ally. When it is the French turn we will meet online to carry out much trade of units and techs. France wonders if Spain needs the loan of any French troops?

Great!

Spains list of requests will be presented in a closed meeting in Paris before the end of next month.

Royal Navy Redeployed

In line with it's traditional strategy of falling back on the English channel in times of danger, the ships of the Royal Navy are now patroling Britain's coastline. Any future French invasion fleet will have to run a terrible gauntlet of British firepower backed up by powerful naval and army reaction forces in all the coastal towns.

Major Convoys Reach Britain

Despite the invasion crisis, valuable trade goods have continued to arrive in Britain. An extreamly valuable convoy containing numberous shipments of goods from British India has arrived unscathed and has been unloaded in British ports.

Troop Ships clog the Thames

The port of London is clogged with recently arrived merchant transports flying the Royal Navy's ensign. While the reason for the ships being in port has not been revealed, obsevers report that most of the large fleet of ships are riding much higher in the water then they were when they first arrived. Horseguards has refused to answer questions linking the fleet to the mystereous night time movements of what sounds like dozens of carts.

Naval Action off Cape Bon Ends in British Victory!

The ships of the British Mediterranean Fleet have met and destroyed a large French fleet off Cape Bon, Tunisia. While most of the ships of the British fleet suffered severe damage, a powerful fleet of undamaged first rate warships is expected to link up with them and escort them back to base next month.

Probably just the one. However, the second fleet would be well advised to stay in port...

Austria please change your attitude so that we can make a formal alliance :)
Turn report:
  • The Prussian education system has undergone a minor change to increase the state's money flow :mischief:
  • Lots of troop movements, but little else :)

Sorry, forgot to alter the attitude. :(
I'll do it next turn. :)
