Bonaparte II Tournament Game #7 PBEM

War with France Resumed
France's continued violations of the Peace of Amiens have finally forced Pitt's Cabinet into a declaration of war. In a rousing speech at Parliament, the Prime Minister declared that Great Britain would not rest until the French dictator was deposed and the status quo finally restored in Europe.

These strong words were followed by stronger actions, as the Royal Navy moved into action. A French smuggler in the English Channel was boarded and scuttled by British marines, while a French frigate off Brest blundered into an English ship-of-the-line and was promptly blown to smithereens. In the Mediterranean too a Royal Navy frigate chased down and sank a French brig off the coast of Sardina. With this promising start to the campaign against France it does not seem as if any ships will soon be contesting Britannia's control of the seas.

Prussian Army Takes to the Field

In light of the new outbreak of war between Britain and France, the Prussian government has decided to secure our frontiers by uniting the minor Germanic nations under the Prussian flag. In accordance with this policy, Prussian troops have begun sieges of the cities of Rostock and Ulm.

Prussia Considers Alliances

The Prussian government has announced that it is open to offers of alliance from all other European nations.

Austrian Empire Declares itself neutral in Franco-Brittish War
Emperor Heinrich I of the Holy Roman Empire of German nation has declared that the Empire will not get involved in the recent hostilities between the Empire of France and Brittain.
However he does offer his skills as a mediator and hopes that the conflict can be halted within the near future ;)

In the war against the muslim Ottoman Empire the city of Constanta has fallen to the advancing Imperial armies, and more cities are expected to follow within the near future...

Austrian VPs:

France and Britain reach a peaceful understanding, and agree to act towards maintaining order in Europe.

France, provoked by the petty German princes, dissolves the HRE and declares the Rheine Confederation, and has sent troops to establish order here and in Italy.

France extends a peaceful hand to Spain, as well as Prussia and Austria, provided they do nothing to support German and Itailan "rebels".

Spain has just begun economic reform within it's borders.

Spain has no wish to enter the Italian conflict and extends a peaceful hand towards France and Britain.

Our military goals are to lift the Ottoman threat in Africa, and to liberate Morroco and the rest of North Africa.

Sweden announces a campaign against Norway. Otherwise, we wish to remain at peace with our neighbours...

Several Norweigan batteries destroyed in the first fighting, but a Swedish Jaeger battalion also wiped out.

An independant source has confirmed that the British Royal Admiralty is currently on holiday at their estates outside of Dublin, enjoying very spirited games of cricket and tiddly winks. It has been confirmed that this is the cause of delay in any major British movements, hopefully they will return to the business of ruling their worldwide empire soon. (So this PBEM can continue....)

It seems the British Royal Admiralty has returned. Independant Brig sunk between Alborg and Goteborg. Sunk a French 2 decker, frigate, Brig and merchantman just south of Norwich. Sunk a French 2 decker and merchantman just south of Plymouth. Moved a lot of units around and also moved my trade around.

England is wondering if France wants it's entire fleet sunk before France will end this war or does France wish to end hostilities now. Please PM me so we can discuss.

England is also open to discussions with any of the other European powers. ALSO LET ME KNOW IF WE HAD AGREEMENTS PRIOR TO THIS. Im filling in for Winterfritz until further notice and I will warn you all now Im quite a rude bumper!:p

Verbosity later, here is the file, we need to get this PBEM going again!

Rule Britannia:king:

The invincible Prussian army has stormed the minor German state of Rostock. While casualties were heavy, the prize of this great city more then makes up for our losses.
