The export of British goods sent to all the corners of Europe. The British navy had numerous encounters with the French navy.

Britian will do its utmost to hinder French expansion in europe.

Reform Initiated
Realising that the efficient state and military of Frederick the Great has ossified into an inefficient and tradition-bound administration, the Prussian King has begun a wide range of reforms designed to make Prussia a great European state once more. As part of these reforms the monarchy has declared Prussia open to all free trade. Trade goods are being sent out to all the capitols of Europe, and Prussia likewise will eagerly welcome the arrival of any foreign merchants.

The army is also undergoing a major overhaul to promote modern tactics and advancement based on merit. After an altercation with the local ruler of Rostock, Prussia has declared war on the tiny province, giving the new army a chance to test itself on the field.

However, the Prussian King has made it clear that he wants no part in the struggle developing between Britain and France, although he is open to offers of an alliance from any of the European states.

Tzar Henrikov the first is as of yet remaining neutral in the Franco-Brittish conflict in the west.

The russian empire is not interested in getting involved into the petty brawls of the French and English.

Meanwhile all borders towards european countries are reinforced and a declaration of war has been made towards the Ottoman Empire, skirmishes between Imperial Russian troops and Ottoman soldiers are reported north of the, by the austrian Empire recently liberated, city Constanca.

1. The provinces between the Minho and the Duero, with the city of Oporto, shall be given in full ownership and sovereignty to His Majesty the King of Etruria, under the title of King of Northern Lusitania.

2. The Province of Alemte and the Kingdom of Algarve shall be given in full ownership and sovereignty to the Prince of the Peace, to be enjoyed under the title of Prince of Algarve.

3. The Provinces of Beira, Tras-os-Montes, and Portuguese Estremadura, shall remain in trust until the general peace, to be disposed of then according to circumstances, and according to what shall be agreed upon between the 2 High Contracting Parties.

As French forces pour over the Spanish border, King Juan demands an explanation from his putative ally, General Napoleon...

In case a joint attack is desired by the French, Spanish forces have moved up to the Portuguese border.

However, the Spanish border fortress garrisons are standing to their guns in case the French movement is more sinister.....

Russian forces have appeared outside the walls of the fortress of Helsinfogrs. Russian naval forces blockaded the gulf of Finland. Russian ships have left port.

It is my professinal opinion that Russia has intentions to attack Sweden.

First of all, France did not mention the naval engagement west of Corsica, where two British ships where sunk. I'm sure you just forgot Waku. But please remember to post everything!

*Britain is alarmed at the massing of Spanish forces along the Portuguese/Spanish border. We demand that they pull back immediately or face the consequences.

*A French cargo vessel sunk just off the Spanish coast.

*Britain urges Russia not to attack Sweden before a diplomatic solution can be worked out.

Yes, Waku, your post was VERY colourful, but I don't think it was very informative.

As the Spanish, I would like to know what you are up to. I'm sure we would all benefit from a good factual report, because in a PBEM, we can't see what goes on during another's turn.

Spain is ready to declare war on the British, but wants to find out the French intentions first.

Rostock Surrenders
As Rostock fell so too did many of the top officials in the Prussian military, as their blundering and outmoded tactics led to the unreasonable loss of two regiments of kuraisiers and around four batteries of artillery, seige and foot; proof that the King and his ministers mean to back their promises of reform with action. On the bright side however, the other fortmations that took place in the assualt of Rostock's fortress are now seasoned veterans, making such losses unlikely in the future.

Celebrations across Prussia
Despite the debacle at Rostock however, the King has evidently won the hearts of his people with his promises of far-reaching reform. Everywhere across the kingdom this month the people were in the streets chanting praise of the King and holding pictures of their ruler up to the sky. Not a few have voiced the radical hope that he may follow up this quick annexation with more campaigns to bring further German states under the Prussian banner; a song that goes 'Deutschland uber alles' has begun to catch on...

Austrian Army Continues Advance

This month, the Austrian Army of the Adriatic has taken Ravenna, the Army of the Balkans has taken Tirane and the Army of the Danube has taken Varna. As well as crippling the the Ottoman Army, these victories have won Austria 4 victory points.

Russians' Asked to Withdraw

The Austrian Government requests that Russia withdraw it's troops from the mouths of the Danube region. As the Ottoman threat to the Southern Russian border has been removed these troops are no longer required.

Russia will garrison her borders against any neighbor, be they Ottoman, Swedish or Prussian, however she will not attack.

A policy of strict neutrality has been declared in St. Petersburg.

The only nation that russia is currently at war with is the Ottoman Empire and that war is expected to end soon with the fall of the Ottoman capital...

French capture Zurich and kindly request the Austro-Hungarian Emperor to withdraw his lovely tin soldiers from the nearby Alps

Owing to the obstinate English failing to reply to our last ultimatum (my mail to you of 24/07/02, SAS), our glorious King Juan Carlos has ordered his troops across the Portuguese border on the first of the month...

Lagos, Figueira and Oporto have been brought under bombardment: Three Portuguese musketeer regiments and one battalion of Cacadores (Rifles) have been dispersed, although one of our own infantry regiments was bloodily repulsed when they attempted to storm the walls of Oporto. More cannon are being brought up....

Figueira has been taken, as has Lagos.

English merchants on their way to Madrid have been interned, and their goods seized.

Not wishing to be left out, our navy has also joined the fray. A British Brig outside Cadiz has been sunk, and an East Indiaman captured off Malaga. Our main fleet has also sunk a carelessly shadowing frigate that got too close.

An attack on Ceuta by the Bey of Tangiers was easily repulsed as well.
