Borders of Europe, 2057

Oh, I forgot to mention earlier:

Attach Luxembourg to Flanders-Netherlands

Merge Austria, Germany, and Liechtenstein.

The Duchy of Luxembourg doesn't border either Flanders or Netherlands.

This being said, the day Belgium splits up, I'm there to throw molotovs at every cheering Flemish/Walloon nationalist who's cheering in the streets. There will be riots: because of this stupid unimportant issue no one can agree on, Belgium still have got no government 4 months after the election. There are more important things to tackle.

OT, I see more nations joining the EU, especially to the east (Turkey, former Soviet nations, maybe even Russia), and countries like Norway, Iceland, Greenland, etc... will feel forced to join as the EU gets bigger and bigger.
More EU countries will see the benefits of the € as well. and as it will be used in more and more countries it will have a stronger impact on the international market. I don't think the $ will disappear though.

fine.

Here's a map that has all of the counties of Europe in it. I think I properly colored in the countries in their current state. Have fun!

Have BeNeLux as one country

Well, that's going back to the 1815-1830 (or 1839 if we consider official recognition) situation. Although, according to popular jokes, this would seriously harm the Dutch IQ-average (since obviously Belgium and Luxembourg would be integrated into Greater-Netherlands).

lazy pot smoking dutch would find it too hard to now write a an average iq level with three digits  ;)

Fine, fine.

here's my proposal, based on language, with a complete disregard for recent historical events and an approximate knowledge of what people speak in the Baltic countries:

Nah, that's too Czech. Mentioning "Czech" in the name of the country would insult every true Slovak. I guess they'd settle for "Glorious Empire of Great Slovakia" or something equally modest.

I suppose that is why it will never happen . . .

Annex Slovakia to Hungary, and rename Czechia to Bohemia.
