I completed the conquest of Babylon by 660. Pacal, Cyrus, and Alexander had all become Hindu, so I had also converted and gotten relations to Friendly or Pleased with all of them, so I decided to stay peaceful with them.

I declared war on Shaka in 1350, conquering the Zulu Empire by 1550. Pericles and his Spartan Empire was next to be conquered, in a war from 1555 to 1655. (I could have ended the wars faster if I had accepted their capitulations, but I didn't want that to degrade my relations with those on the home continent.)

I beelined Mass Media, then used a GE to rush the UN. Alexander had peace-vassaled to Cyrus, which made Cyrus appear to be second in population, but that was counting 50% of Alex's pop. When the UN was completed, Pacal was actually the second candidate. Cyrus voted for me for Secretary General, then some tech gifts from me was enough to buy votes from him and Alexander, giving me a Diplomatic victory in 1814. This may be the first time I won a UN victory with votes from independent AI, instead of using vassals to deliver the votes I needed.

A simple, stress-free game. Unlike IRL, where... My apologies if returning to the 1930s should prove to be inconvenient for anyone. :cringe:

Conquest 1660. There was a long real-time gap between my start and finish and I don't remember any details, but probably like everyone I went after Babylon first, in two stages I think. Then I worked my way west vassalizing, followed by the island Greeks and finally the Zulus. I forgot about city flipping after conquest being allowed and lost a couple of Persian cities, grrr.

Oh, right, I got fooled(?) into moving NE to the coast to start the game, thus stranding the fish and probably creating other problems, but I figured that being able to get an early Great Lighthouse was worth it. Not sure about that, and my starts tend to be slower than most people's anyway. Thank you, kcd, for keeping the BOTMs going.

My first ever game submitted, conquest in 1560 if I remember the date right. Babylon first, then conquered the rest of the land. I went after Zulus before the other Greeks, my memory was that Shaka can be stubborn about vassalling, but apparently losing a couple cities defended by archers and impis to grenadiers and cannons caused him to see the light :)
