Boudica is a fruitcake

I still think Montsy is "nuttier". He just attacks regardless of anything. One time he crossed the ocean to attack me when we had a +10 dip rating, shared same religion, I was number 1 in power ranking, 2 era more advanced than him, and his close neighbours didn't even have open border with him, and he still chose to throw his cannons and knights and even longbows to my infantries. He is such a "friend" he gift-wrapped exp to my units.

Problem of Bourdica is unlike Montzy, who is more annoying than lethal most of the time, Bourdica really knows to pile up highly promoted units to get a SoD. If she's my neighbour I'll do everything to rush her early before it gets to that point.

In a game on hiatus, Boudica turned out to be quite a staunch ally, despite not sharing the same religion.

The same could not be said of FDR (with whom we have a defensive pack but is in all other ways a crappy ally -- he will not trade techs or resources and will routinely choose any negative option on the random diplomatic events between our two nations.)

But the real turd (read prick) in that and every BTS game I've played is Joao (sp) of Portugal.

The game started with myself as the Dutch in the extreme SW of a continent and Jaoa waaay on the other end in the extreme SE (this is large maps/marathon). He has huge swaths of lands to settle to his north (between himself and FDR), but what does he do? Takes a barb town right on the outskirts of my first ring. Fine, I take it back, and now, thousands of years later, he's still pissed about it. He routinely declares war, has a gazillion annoying air ships and a horde of units, and while he posseses niether the necessary force nor tech to actually sack one of my cities he still poses a danger as he is keeping just a step behind in military techs AND has forged a permanant alliance with Bismark (who is otherwise friendly to the Dutch).

This all means though it's humorous how we all find our own devils. :D

... Therefore, the Vulture is slightly favored, but not by a wide margin.

Yeah, the Vulture rocks as an all-purpose unit. It's hard to see why the Sumerians would build many (if any) swordsmen, since the base strength is the same and it only needs copper to build.

To me, it's like a Praetorian-Lite that only needs bronze working and copper.

I've been in many wars with her. She doesn't attack as early as Shaka, so she doesn't knock me out. Often what happens is that we get in a repeated war spiral and end up among the backward civs.

I've also noticed that she frequently becomes a vassal of somebody else. This is really annoying if she's your neighbor.

Nowadays I'm inclined to attack her first if she's near me.
