 I just don't understand this at all. Boudica has declared war on me 7 straight times! By that I mean about 3 or 4 turns after a peace treaty has ended she will declare war on me again. The strangest thing is, she will not attack. She just circles her navy around in her own borders. If she's not going to send units, then what's the point of declaring war all the time? This AI behavior is kind of... lame. It's not bothering me, but it can't be doing any good for them. Just odd...

I thought that was standard practice for the AI in BTS. My games tend to be war after war after war, and it's not me declaring.

I met her for the first time in my last game, and she was just scary. She declared war all over the place. She declared war on Shaka, Mansa, Mao and De Gaulle, turning them all into vassals, and Huayna. This later developed into a world war. Pretty interesting to watch. I was just sitting in my corner with my little spaceship parts wondering when I was next, but she never came for me, thank god. I saw the stack she used on Shaka. Tons of CRIII grenadiers, ouch.

you might need to build up your millitary power. the stronger you are , less likely war will be. upgrading units will add points, as will millitary builidings etc. i often find that if im weak ill get b@tched about until they fear me a bit lol

To be honest, if an AI is causing you that much problem, your only aim should be to annihilate them.

Take as much of a millitary tech route you can, build nothing but units, concentrate on the cities with his army in, even give your techs away to get other people involved... it could be worth it in the long run if war allies takes some of the heat off of you and lets you snatch their land.

Just go KILL!!!! :p

The first couple of times the AI DoWs me, I'll fight them off, reclaim any lost cities/territory and look to make peace. The AI comes back for more? All bets are off and I'll do my best to wipe them out. Looks to me like you need to "form the SoD" and clean her clock.

You mean to say that you actually lose some of your cities to the AI?

:p

I've never played against her when she hasn't been kicking butt and taking names. One game she and Monty duked it out almost from turn 1, allowing me as Asoka to build a large empire.

...Solution:
Play Boudica yourself. Of Rome. Talk about kicking butt :D
Also, Boudica of Holy Rome is nice aswell... CRIII Landsknechts with CI and Cover are gods. Have a knight protect them from Xbows and youre good to go :)

After 3 or 4 turns? I thought peace treaties were unbreakable for 10 turns?

Yes, I meant 3 or 4 turns after the peace treaty has ended.

Guilds in 1710AD What level are you playing on?

Prince, and with a modded marathon speed.

She is the inferior civ. I guess you're right Soneji, I'll just have to take her out.

:D

In my current game, I'm the Romans. Ghandi is to my west and Boudica is south of him. I'm busy turning India into a footnote. Boudica likes me now because we share a religion, but I anticipate a bloody war with her coming up. Otherwise, neither of us has room to expand...

First post! - Civ player since Civ I, lurker for almost as long.

Yep. Then I take it back, along with a couple of the AI's cities. I have a bad habit of neglecting my military when I get caught up in building/expanding the empire. I never said I was a good civ player, did I?
