Brand new novice. need help

I am such a novice. I used to play Civ I on my old Mac. I just got Civ II Multiplayer Gold Edition for Xmas. I don't even know how to install it. I really just want to play by myself, without going online. Can anyone out there take the time to explain what to do?

Preliminary question: What sort of computer do you have? What is the operating system, 32 bit or 64 bit. The installation will depend on that.
