British Empire Mod

Yes its the TET huge map and a modified version of their "cities" scenario. With 32 civs it does take a while per turn but the game play is worth it. I am now finalising version 2.0 of the mod.

I found that the advanced tech jumps were coming too soon so it now costs 3-4 times more to develop the SETI and Mohattan programs, etc.

I have left settlers as being pricey but you get a LOT of them at the beginning. so many in fact that when the mod starts you are losing money. I left this like that because the loss of so many key people must have had a draining effect on the economy during the 16th century. Again you get to choose. Work fast on trade to stem the losses in time (possible within 8-10 turns if you dont rush buy anything), or kill some off and stem the drain of cash.

The problem with ruling such huge distances is a problem but that makes the mod realistic. Of course building the Forbidden Palace becomes ESSENTIAL but its another part of the fun deciding where to make your second base. I usually choose New York but Cape Town, Sri Lanka, Sydney or Hong Kong all have strategic arguments too. These decisions are what make the mod appealing to me.

As for the install it couldnt be easier and I have included a screen shot of where the files should go to help too.

Can anyone tell me if anyone has tried to war on the other European civs from the very beginning? Is it possible?

And for anyone playing this mod, I suggest reading James Clavell's novels.
 
Very interesting idea just dl'ed looking forward to giving it a whirl. And Moni i've read most of them :)

Good mod but i got somethig thats ''wrong.. in the mod:
1) Hamburg should be longer down
2) Copenhagen should be named Aarhus since sjælland arent there...
3) make sure 2 place Aarhus first of these two cites, why hamburg has its culture deep into denmark.
