ok, after a load of hassel trying to actually GET broadband to my house I was quite profusely pi**ed off when I found out that for some erason it keeps disconnecting me every few minutes.

I've tried timing it but its random from what I can see. sometimes I can be online for 8 hours, sometimes 8 seconds.

After I get disconnected instead of being a lovely green. the connection icon turns yellow and it says "training" and the link light which is usually always green, beings to flicker.

Is it possible that there is something affecting my connection on my computer that I'm not aware of. I've got Zone Alarm and Norton Anti-Virus running as well as other stuff.

Can anyone help me try to solve why I'm getting disconnected??I'm currently with Plus.net and I'm using a Binatone USB ADSL 500 Modem. Once thing is, the connection is USB2.0, and I've been informed that the version of XP I have doesn't support USB 2.0. I don't have SP1 installed yet it says that in order for the modem to work it needs it but apart from getting disconneected its working fine. From my thinking of it the problem is between the modem and the phone line and not the modem and computer but I just need to ask you guys.

I just want to know if its a problem at my end before I get on the phone to them and rip them a new ass.

Can anyone fill me in just a little more??

Cheers

Well, either way you will want to have SP1 and all other security updates installed because it will protect your computer from getting ****ed up in the near future.

If you don't you will be posting next month about how your computer is ****ting with you and how nothing works because of some virus.

Install SP1 and all other updates, then see if you still have the problem. If you do, then contact your ISP.

LOL...

I cannot get any form of broadband at all, except for satellite (too slow, too laggy for online gaming and too expensive). And this is not some small town out in the middle of nowhere, it's the suburbs of Denver!

With that, and the snow, it's no wonder I want to move back to Arizona...
