Entrepreneur turned biohacker. You guys heard of him? I'm sure @El_Machinae is aware as I know he's into the quest to reverse aging.

My first reaction was to be a bit of a hater but that was mostly envy that he could afford all the fancy bloodwork but mostly a life freer of stress but I have to admire someone going all out for their selfcare goals in a world that thrives on mindless self indulgence and escapism.

Kind of reminds me of Tim Ferris, willing to do experimentation on himself.

Like, you need to admire his ascent to the pinnacle of such a world? I can see that!

yeah that thumbnail I'm guessing is off...

but I don't know too much about the guy, and if he wants to try everything to not look as old (I wouldn't call that "de-aging" but whatever) then go for it. maybe he'll discover some things if he's willing to subject himself to it.

If he takes drugs "off label" along with a bunch of other experimental things, how will he even know what part of his protocol is making the most impact?

The guy who wrote "The four hour work week" that later nearly died over-working himself?
He nearly died?
As to Mr. Johnson, is he selling a book, 'medicine', speaking tours, or anything?
I think he has some kind of membership you, maybe order all of his equipment thru, I'm not sure way outside my range. He claims all his recipes and protocols are free

Sorry, it was his assistant. Article says a few times that it nearly killed them both, but only details what the assistant was doing.

But the way the 'article' is written, it seems it may lead to a future sales pitch. These kind of people, dont know what's true, false, exaggerated, etc in their storytelling....

Un pay walled article. Even if the reverse aging results are as true as claimed (doubtful), how would one figure how much of it was because of the 'young blood' instead of the 'two dozen medications', diet and exercise?

If you do many things at once it's hard to figure out which is working. That's true. There is no such thing as a controlled experiment in life but you still have to make choices.

It's easy to laugh from the sidelines while people experiment on themselves and only jump in when the evidence is clear and/or (usually or) the choices become more socially acceptable.

Like all this stuff is considered goofy but no one bats an eye when people get Botox (and those who get the Botox don't bat an eye either  )

Pretty sure that's not what's actually happening.
The guy is trying to stay young.

Whether it's working or not remains to be seen.

The guy can come off as vain. I dislike aging for vanity reasons but I also dislike it because I like being vibrant and able to give energy to those around me.

If 80% the stuff he does turns out to be nonsense and only 20% works that's still pretty good compared to a guy who just leaves his life up to chance and vague attempts to be healthy that he's absorbed from his culture.
