I just loaded Steam and BtS on a HP Pro 6300 desktop PC running Windows 7.1 Pro. Everything has been updated. When I go to launch BtS it starts the init process, etc, the graphics resolution changes but then it stops and goes back to the Steam page - as if it erorr'd out somewhere. I'm able to load Civ IV fine although at the end it does give me an error that I've selected an usable voice capture device. But I can hit ok a few times and the game is loaded. Not so with BtS (at least no visible error).
I've removed the game twice and re-downloaded. I can run the game fine on all my other computers including those with the same version of Windows - albeit a laptop.
Any suggestions?
