Hmm I'm unsure how to answer the question. I was not happy with the wait, but I'm satisfied with the actual patch. Does that mean it's worth the wait?

Ha ha - I try to put in as many option as possible, but I didn't consider that one.

You were not happy with the wait - but was it WORTH the wait?

Not sure if I can edit poll after people have voted, but if an admin was interested they could add a "Yes - other" and a "No - other"

Yeah, the question is less "Worth the wait", and more "is the patch good". Some people will have different answers for each question, I'd imagine.

Which is why I put three options for each "main" answer... this poll is more about the wait. There is an assumption that if you liked the patch it was worth the wait.

The other options assume that there is an agreement that there are issues and then allow you to choose a speed variable on the wait for the next patch.

Possibly resolvable with a Yes/no - other option.

Actually I am surprised that I left "other" options off of this poll - i generally try to have an out for everybody

For me the most interesting aspect of this poll will be peoples confidence in a timely fix. With patch and support issues dating back to the vanilla release of Civ$ I am not confident that these problems will be fixed in a timely manner. I'd love to be wrong. I used to love this game. I still do. Its just that now its become a love hate thing.

In one manner of thinking this patch is not worth the wait for me because I didn't feel that BTS was worth playing until the game was fixed. The major features which justified the expansion didn't work proper. And since I have grown increasingly frustrated with the quality and support of this game ever since the initial vanilla release.. I finally reached the point where enough was enough already and I put my foot down and shelved the game until such time as it was fixed. I have waited and waited to finally play BTS... and then I waited some more. At long last we were told it was completed and we'd have it two weeks ago... then it was said that we'd have it the first of this week. Now it is finaaaaallllly here and two major aspects of the game are busted (resource trading and MP). My confidence and patience towards Firaxis and the game of Civilization is rapidly wanning. To that end this patch was defiantly not worth it. I miss the Golden Age of Civ. Patch and support issues like this sadden me.

But all that said I was very happy to finally play a game after months of waiting. I was going to wait a week or so and see if the patch would be patched. But I couldn't wait any longer and I had no trust that it would be fixed soon anyway. Thus far my game has been fun and exciting. It sucks that resource trading is borked. But hopefully the other aspects of the game are fixed proper now. And I am looking forward to FINALLY playing the game with Vassals (I turned it off back in the Warlord days). I'm also looking forward to playing with the Space victory selected. I hope the AI is now wise enough to save its arse and stop building SS parts while it is being overrun by my military. These things and much more will ultimately decide for me if this patch was worth the wait... and that will decide for me if the game of Civilization is worth my future attention. Civilization stands on the brink of becoming history to me. This patch and its support will decide all.

Anyone who's 'satisfied' hasn't actually spent much time playing it IMO. This patch was clearly either untested or tested by folks who were actually unconscious at the time

EDIT

Hmmm I take back what I said earlier. After some more attempted MP games today I've noticed OOS errors almost consistently at the beginning of every game. It seems to be just temporary though, as after the players out of sync exit and rejoin there are no further problems. I'm unsure whether this is a problem with the patch, a problem with gamespy or a some combination of both.

The only reason I was expecting the patch was that the most famous mods were waiting for it to update...

I'm still waiting for it lmao... Keeps crashing for me...

No game breaking bug. Fast and easy unofficial fixes for the minor bugs. Hum.

I actually expected that this time there would be no bugs, but I still think it was worthy the wait.

When voting on this poll, are we supposed to take into account the behaviour of Alexman?

ZZZzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZ

Worthy very much the wait only for the fact that an AI just stole Literature from me with a spy in a SG game.

I think we're supposed to take into account the actual question asked, and leave it at that....

I personally am very pleased with the patch, and it doesn't really annoy me that a few unofficial fixes for it have been released. After all, how many games out there can we unofficially fix ourselves? And I have no doubt that there may even be further patches in the long run, but for the first time it seems that 3.13 is the steady base from which to build upon.

Come on, most of the massive list of fixes were implemented well. A few bugs remain. Vote how you wish, but don't pass judgement on those who are satisfied. Fair enough? ;)

instant CTD on loading with 3.13 as reported in the tech supp, Last time I buy anything from firaxis without entensively testing it first!!
