BTS Patching Problems

Ive seen many good mods in here I want to try, but all they require BTS version 3.13.

I installed the patch with no problems, then loaded the game, but when I check the version it still says "3.0.1.". If I try to reinstall the patch, it says ive got already version 1.3.1. Try to patch again, same result.

Does any of you have a solution or know where the problem can be? When I load for example de MOD Draconia 2, texts are missing, or when I try FfH, it loads perfectly, but crashes when I try to start a new map.

Ive never modified the game files in any way possible.

Plz I need help =)

Hello,

I installed the most recent BTS patch but still cannot play internet games. When I attempt to do so, the screen states that I need to install the the 313 patch. After "successfully" installing the patch (per the Installer), I tried again and received the same message.

After downloading the patch a second time, I received a notice that v3.13 was already installed.

Can you please offer your expertise as to a potential solution for this issue? Your insight is greatly appreciated. :)

Thanks for the prompt reply. I'm using an American retail version of Civ IV (Game of the Year Edition) and a store-bought Bts Expansion pack with 2 disks.

Other than no multiplayer capability and the inability to play a Giant Earth Map Mod, the game seems to work fine.

Appreciate the help, man.

you should reinstall everything and please follow the steps below (since I don't feel like recompiling this all the time it does include Warlords - so just omit those steps if you don't have Warlords).
The problem is that your patch install did not work properly.

install the most recent version of DirectX 9c from Microsoft

then do the following for a clean reinstall:

Uninstall and Reinstall Civ4 Warlords BtS :

Try to follow this order when doing stuff:
Use Control panel to uninstall Beyond the Sword, then Warlords, then Vanilla
Delete "...\documents and settings\<username>\my documents\my games\sid meier's civilization 4" manually
Delete "...\documents and settings\<username>\my documents\my games\warlords" manually
Delete "...\documents and settings\<username>\my documents\my games\beyond the sword" manually
Delete "...\documents and settings\<username>\application data\my games\sid meier's civilization 4" manually
Delete "...\documents and settings\<username>\application data\my games\warlords" manually
Delete "...\documents and settings\<username>\application data\my games\beyond the sword" manually
(note: application data is a hidden directory so you need to configure windows explorer to show hidden files, also these directories in application data are sometimes removed by the uninstall routine)
Delete "...\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{CFBCE791-2D53-4FCE-B3FB-D6E01F4112E8}" (Civ4)
Delete "...\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{3E4B349F-10B5-4586-9D99-489A90A8B228}" (Warlords)
Delete "...\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{32E4F0D2-C135-475E-A841-1D59A0D22989}" (BtS) (note: InstallShield Installation Information is a hidden directory so you need to configure windows explorer to show hidden files).
Install Vanilla, immediately patch it to 1.61 (download it fresh from here)
Install Warlords, immediately patch it to 2.08 (download it fresh from here)
Install Beyond the Sword, immediately patch to 3.13 (download it fresh from here).

Hey, Ori, your suggestions were a great help. After hours of reinstalling, everything finally works now -- thanks a lot!

Now I can finally enjoy that wonderful Civ music --
"One daeeay, one daeeeeay, one daeeay, one daeeeay. Aaaaaahaha . . ."
