This game has worked fine for me for over a year. Suddenly (literally overnight), BtS is basically unusable. The lag is so bad that unit animations lag, including ambient effects and the animated circles around units, so badly that it becomes impossible to play. Note that Vanilla, Warlords, and Colonization work fine and that this was an overnight problem with no change to the system. I have gone so far as to uninstall my entire Civ IV and reinstall everything with the Civilization IV Complete, but to no avail.
Any ideas how to get my favorite game back?
