My coolest currently game at BTS has been finished! :goodjob:

A little pre-game info... After this idiotic incident with Permanent Alliance playing as Ottomans, I've decided to play another game, and take on account my other mistakes.

After many tries - mainly, Domination - I figured out what I have to do more. Heroic Epic - the true national wonder... I forgot it's power, and thusly, I started up another time. After a bit of tomfoolery at the play now screen, I've picked Sitting Bull (Protective/Philosophical). I had no particular plan on how to use this one. Surely I knew I wanted a GP Farm. Protective - well, get it on a spin, I wanted to try something new. And, Sitting Bull... Well, there are many reasons. First, I am a big fan of westerns (though not necessarily those with Indians in them). Second, this: http://www.saber-scorpion.com/lego/comics_wolm2.php - was another reason. I played as Chief Firecloud, the character from this comic. This is sort of a tribute. :)

I will probably not post it all at the same time. It's getting late, and there are 114 screenshots. I will choose those really mattering.

And so, the history of Firecloud's tribe began here:
Spoiler :

Settled in place. There was no reason to move. This spot arose as a powerful scientific pumper - although I needed three farms to support its growth to 20. No problem - there was a lake! :) And gold - nothing to sneeze at, that's for sure!

Soon spotted a wonderful spot for another city... and neighbors:

Spoiler :

Ah, the competitors. Kublai Khan will be the only Civ to be burned down, though I would try early on to make him a friend. Ragnar became a trusted ally. The obsessively twiddling thumb Joao II will be my main rival.

Soon, a settler came out of Cahokia to found maybe the most important city of the great empire - Poverty Point.

Spoiler :

Awesome, awesome spot for a production city. It earned me monstrous army, produced most of the spaceship parts, and even some wonders as well (it was my most cultured spot!).

Brave warrior made contact with another neighbor. Gilgamesh would turn out to be a formidable competitor techwise.

Spoiler :

And soon, I assigned two scientists to Cahokia, for a Great Scientist. This move made me tech leader for centuries.

Spoiler :

This, however, made my most sincere desire to make Khan an ally a ridiculous thought. Mongolians were my direct neighbors, expanding to my territory. No way, Kublai, you're gonna die.
Spoiler :

You can't get away in the game without friends. I still didn't decide whom will I support, thus I didn't want to isolate Joao II right now. The time will decide soon that Ragnar will be of the Light Side.

Spoiler :

Charlemagne showed up. He will never do anything significant for this game, except somehow leading in Power score (never attacked anyone), and falling backwards in technology, ranting and demanding to stop trading. In other words - a typical AI. :)

Spoiler :

The shot of my blossoming empire. To the east, you can see my GP Farm, Mound City. It will also play a significant role, providing... guess what? Great People! Farming those floodplains and wheat will give extra food for those specialists. Spoofing Transformers: "Philosoph and roll out!" (Yeah, I don't know if there is a word to "order" philosophing...").

I came out with this deal:

Spoiler :

Corn for pigs - a good deal I thought, it would boost relations. But it didn't mattered. You'll see. You can also see that Kublai converted to Confucianism that I founded. I would reap quite a shrine income down the road.

Continue on the next post.

For a lack of a better idea, Poverty Point constructed this:
Spoiler :

You may see also that I'm building Heroic Epic, even though I didn't start a war. It's because of Dog Soldier who went on a barbarian killing spree. My use of Native America's UU and UB will be very limited - Dog Soldier will defend my cities, and UB... um, expand borders. Yup - I told you I hadn't any plan about that, I rather concentrated on benefits of my traits. Besides, I think that Dog Soldier is rather poor in an early rush, 4 strength against archers (if they'd be protective = ouch!) is not much.

Spoiler :

Joao demanded Monarchy. I agreed, because I didn't want to isolate him. I knew that Kublai is now out as a candidate for an ally, and I wanted friends! Plus, it wasn't a big tech. On the screen, you can see a major trade - not having Hunting by 150 AD seems off, isn't it? :D

A major event struck there:

Spoiler :

Ragnar demanded a war against Dutch. Since he wasn't the only one to declare (Gilgamesh did the same in the same turn) and I wanted to make friends, I agreed for a phony war (I was hopeless militarily!). It was truly phony, plus it was longing for aaaageees, before Dutch finally capitulated to Ragnar. Ragnar was a good ally, especially after he got Confucianism from me, and demanded Aesthetics, which I was happy to give him.

As you have seen, I had Literature very early (Heroic Epic), and it was a no-brainer to score this one:
Spoiler :

It boosted my research nicely. Firecloud' situation is looking up. :) Parthenon started the same turn.

Charlemagne demanded Mathematics. Bugger off. He was a Buddhist, he wasn't any threat, and already hated my friends. So no.

With help of marble, Cahokia finished Parthenon:

Spoiler :

Yup, we love Atena! :crazyeye:

Spoiler :

As you can see, Ragnar already loves me. I liked the deal - Longbowmen were nice with Totem Pole, and I knew that they are an ultimate defense for this stage.

Chaco Canyon has been founded near the Viking border, and my Music Great Artist pulled out this move:

Spoiler :

Score! I will keep those two cities at bay. Chaco Canyon will also be a wonderful commerce city, though now it doesn't amaze.

Here you can see how Bureaucracy+Academy combo leaves certain AIs in the dust:

Spoiler :

Yes, Kublai not only annoys the hell out of me, he is also pretty weak.
In the same round of Music completed, I got the second GA, whom I used on another city:

Spoiler :

That's a pretty pathetic location. It, however, served well for locking Iron and Ivory, and it will provide some water commerce. It will pay off soon.

Spoiler :

Another wonder for my glorious empire. I fell into habit of building it - the increased length of Golden Age is brilliant.

Poverty Point has grown nicely, giving great deal of production:

Spoiler :

At the cost of stagnating it's growth for a long time, I get an ultimate military crank. Even the workshop has been put to a good use.

Pyramids erected... at 1130 AD. Not on my land, of course. Great Prophet born in Poverty Point, and used him for Kong Miao. It gave much of income out of the gate:

Spoiler :

Whopping number! Another city has been settled down at the cold South Pole:

Like in the case of Snaketown, Spiro doesn't sound great as well. However, it locked Silver and (invisible on the screenshot) Furs, and Happiness was a big deal now. After I will develop this city a bit, I will get several beakers out of it.

Spoiler :

This city, I forgot when I found it, also doesn't shine right out of the gate. It was clearly a resource and land locker, but it wasn't all that bad. Another water commerce reaper. Not complaining.

Proven the world's round without building a single ship (although I wanted to finish a Caravel soon). I did it just because it was nice. I will later on put some Galleons at field, and that's it.

To be continued, yadda yadda.

Wow, these 5000 years were surely quiet! Nothing very interesting occured - I got a Great Merchant, and won a Liberalism race (I took Astronomy, because it was the most expensive one). And then:

Spoiler :

Kublai has been bugging me off blocking my expansion and being Hindu. War is declared! :) As you can judge by the great potential of Poverty Point, that didn't bode well for Mongolia!

First blood spilled at the siege of Beshbalik:

Spoiler :

City has been taken with ease. I began advancing towards Karakorum.

Ragnar asked for Education. No problem, buddy - anything for you! Making friends is a very important part of Civilization 4. Master it, and you are set.

Spoiler :

Jolly one! After I will take this one, it shall play a nice role.

Karakorum fell:
Spoiler :

It was one tile off the coast, but it was so built up, I decided to keep it. These wonders won't give me nothing good, they will only irritate me (endless "Declare war on infidels" requests). Oh well.

Spoiler :

Hehe, Gunpowder came. My military factory makes Nationhood puny.

Another wonder completed:

Spoiler :

Mmm! I will use Golden Ages often - late in the game they will make me sleep better with the thought of faster spaceship.

Spoiler :

I lead in everything important. That's good! And the Mound City at it's finest:

Spoiler :

Farms on Flood Plains post Biology give great results! Whopping 80 beakers out of this city, plus more Great People. Yes, I've got much use out of Philosophical, even if I didn't use Pacifism.

Spoiler :

After the conquest of Mongolia (they ran away and settled two crappy cities), I made temporarily peace (I dread war weariness). I renamed the old Mongolian cities. They will also suit my empire, especially Ning-hsia, Little Bighorn and Wounded Knee.

History of Mongolians has been written to its end:

Spoiler :

I kept those cities, because I had much income to support them, and fishing villages can't hurt.

The relations matrix. As you can see, I already have friends and foes:

Spoiler :

Another nice wonder scored at Native America's turf:

Spoiler :

From then, peace came back to the world and never ended again.

Spoiler :

It's Poverty Point at its finest.

And the splendid Cahokia:

Spoiler :

Gilgamesh built UN (he aimed for Cultural Victory BTW, but only Uruk made it to Legendary Culture), and I gived a try on this:

Spoiler :

For Diplomatic Victory voting, Joao didn't vote again. Oh well. I'm sick of Diplomatic Victory anyway.

Mining. Inc appeared at Ning-hsia, and I was more than happy to spread it. It went to Poverty Point (of course), Cahokia, Wounded Knee, Legoredo and Little Bighorn. Corporations are fun, but you need to plan their use. These last turns were a race with Joao to create a spaceship. Mining Inc. helped, as I felt very worried with annoucements about Joao spaceship. I had some Spies fun, stealing several techs from Gilgamesh and Joao, and messing up with their spaceship.

Spoiler :

Funny screenshot - what are they gonna do? Beat me to death with their cases? :D That's a stack of doom...

And soon, the ship was built, and the journey was underway!

Spoiler :

As expected:

Spoiler :

Yay! :)

I enjoyed the game pretty much, getting much insight into BTS additions. Ah, and I found Sid's Sushi near the end, and built Space Elevator when I completed the spaceship. :p

Spoiler :

And, a bit low, for my taste, final score:

I expected better, but a win is not a thing to sneeze at!

Huh. And I posted the whole lot right now. Damn, it's 3 AM. I have to go to sleep.

:king: Chief Firecloud of Native America :king:
led his people to stars.
It's a pity that Clanky
didn't live for long enough to see that.
