BUFFY Mod Will Not Work

I have downloaded the mod, but when I tried to load it, I got a warning saying that I couldn't save my games or submit them. Basically, because I was not using the admin account.

So, I switched the account I was using on my computer, and got the exact same message.

What exactly is going on? Why does it not let me play, even when I'm on the admin account?

I was really looking forward to trying a gauntlet.

What does step 2 in that link even mean? It says to do that stuff for an application like word processor. How will that help Civ? And do you have to do that for every save file you create? I'm confused. They talk about files and applications.

Most of that is just quoted from microsoft. The key part is"

To mark an application to always run elevated
1. Right-click an application that is not likely to have been assigned an administrative token, such as a word processing application.

2. Click Properties, and then select the Compatibility tab.

3. Under Privilege Level, select Run this program as an administrator, and then click OK.

In this case, "application" means the CivilizationIV.exe program or shortcut.

And you do have to do it for every Civ file, right? That is going to be tedious.

I believe that was a "for example". An application is an executable program. Your other files wouldn't have the option of run as administrator.

The only thing that you have to Change is your shortcut you use to start Civ4. Either that or go find CivilizationIV.exe in your install folder.
