Bug Reports and Technical Issues

I can't get the mod to work. I'm playing on steam and I found out that it doesn't work in the "my games" file but I can't find another file that it is meant to go in.

There should be a BTS folder in you steam installation. For me it is in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword\Beyond the Sword\Mods\

Now when I try to load the mod the mod doesn't load and it always says an error message that says
"There are more siblings than memory allocated for them in CvXMLLoadUtility::SetVariableListTagPair Current XML file is : xml\Civilizations/CIV4LeaderHeadInfos.xml"

Sounds like some files are corrupted or inconsistent. Try another install.

I had a folder called Mods in C:\ and the installer put the game in there, causing me quite a bit of grief and wasting about half an hour (I only found it because I realized the shortcut's own installation tree would point me to it). Not a big problem, just something to keep in mind if anybody ever tells you that they can't find a seemingly installed game anywhere.

Windows 10 search function is literally useless.

That just means something was wrong with your registry as well.

Don't know what that means. My search function has always been useless.

Anyway, I just downloaded it yesterday so it should be up-to-date. It's unplayable because of crashes. I have the same computer I always did.

There's no specific trigger, it just has a really hard time in general (resource graphics and sometimes units don't appear for a full five seconds when starting a game, lots of freezing, and no error message when it finally does crash). Windowed mode cuts the crashing in half, but still isn't anywhere good enough.

Too bad for you.

I don't believe the Jewish Religious Victory is working. I achieved the first goal a few times, both when I had the others achieved and when I didn't. At first I assumed it was because the great people were in a city I did not found, but even after I got 15 Statesman/Prophets/Scientists in my capital (the holy city) and achieved the other goals, I did not get the Religious win. Screenshots are attached.

Is the solution listed somewhere I missed? I read the front page of this thread. This can't be how it is for everyone.

Can you also upload a save of this situation?

No it's just you.

Ookay then.

In recent history of this mod I don't recall ever collapsing to the core or a city declaring independence. I either keep all of my empire or end up being defeated, no middle ground.
I vaguely recall an update a while ago that removed city secession, and I'm certain there was an update that made collapses to core AI-only. IIRC, the concession for this was that stability was more strict.

Got hit with a culture bug in Kiev, just barely noticed it when +3 unhappiness “yearning for mother land” stayed for hundreds of years.

Mongols took the city, collapsed and Portuguese took it and I took it from them the same turn. In this process my culture no longer goes up unless I build raw culture there

Edit: playing on version 1.16

Ending the third turn from this save results in a consistent crash to desktop. I noticed it was the turn that the Ottomans spawn in, so I went to Worldbuilder and saw they had their military stationed on an Independent city. So I switched ownership of the city to the Ottomans, and it seems to be working fine now.

It happened when China partially collapsed. The 1240 save is after the collapse so may cause a CTD when being loaded.

When I went back to the auto save and replayed it and made a few different moves, China fully collapsed and there was no CTD.

By the way in my Ethiopia game there were 2 cities called Mombassa. One I founded, and then an independent city appeared several tiles to the south.
