While I think this would be a tonne of work, it might be kinda cool...maybe.

What does everyone think about Civs being able to "build" historical events from their past?

For instance:
- France builds the 'French Revolution'
- American builds the 'Civil Rights Movement'
- etc.

These would grant cultural bonuses and maybe some other small bonus. Maybe these events would create +/- with other civs?

or...

Maybe there are civ-specific random events related to history. Just like the above, but also some "not so good" events. You either get a bonus or a hinderence.

I just like the idea of injecting more history into the game. I realize the game is about making history, but still...

Thoughts anyone?

I once gave France the "Hundred Years War" in Civ3. It gave a cultural boost but was actually not too fun, even though I too enjoy history. Prehaps if you gave it a more dynamic bonus it would inject the amount of history you want. In Civ4 you can make Wonders allow for the availability of certain civics. You should be able to make Historical Wonders more useful in Civ4 than in Civ3.
