Building Question

Hi guys, i'm currently playing a game, where i've built alot of cities, but now alot of my new cities it doesn't give me the option to build any improvements, why is this?.

Are the new cities connected by road or harbor to the old cities? Sometimes I've noticed if they arent connected I don't have all the same build options available.

Maybe you have checked Mobilization to "War-time" in the F1 screen. Then you get double production but you are only allowed to build units.

I believe you can also build improvements that have the militaristic flag checked. Barracks, walls, harbor, etc.

you already built all of the improvements?
you haven't gone up the tech tree far enough to have more improvements?

Anyway, since he complaines about not being able to build improvements, most probably socralynnek's explanation is right. For sure, the mobilization button is placed not in the best way, imaginable.
