Every time I build a wonder in my civilization (CivIV) the computer extremely slows down. On some of them it just exits the game (exit to the desktop) while on others it manages to get through by becoming extremely slow. The option #2 gives me a chance to save the game before restarting it so it would come to a regular speed, while the first option doesn't allow me to do anything (it just exits to the Desktop). ANY IDEAS HOW TO FIX THIS???

I've had it too a couple of times but i realy wouldn't now how to solve it.
If had now problems with it lately btw

This is usually caused by the wonder movies slowing the game to crashing point. If this is the cause you can work round it by turning them off. To do this open the Civ4.ini config file and change "nomovies" from 0 to 1.

Where do you find this "Civ4.ini" file. I did a search for it but could not find it? Should it be on a CD or on drive "C"???

There's a shortcut to it in C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization. It's just labelled _Civ4Config. A search should have turned up the actual file though.

Yepp! Same problem here! Changed the .ini file and now it works. I read about this in the readme.txt file of the game.

Sad enough that you have to turn off the movies...

Also, a suggestion. In earlier editions of Civilization, there was an opportunity to see what the wonder provided AFTER it was built. It would be nice if the movie displayed the advantages of owning the wonder, so that I didn't have to go to the city or the Civilopedia to look it up. Make life easier, eh?
