Robertson's Divine Intervention on Bush
By SONJA BARISIC, AP

NORFOLK, Va. (Jan. 2) - Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson said Friday he believes God has told him President Bush will be re-elected in a "blowout" in November.

"I think George Bush is going to win in a walk," Robertson said on his "700 Club" program on the Virginia Beach-based Christian Broadcasting Network, which he founded. "I really believe I'm hearing from the Lord it's going to be like a blowout election in 2004. It's shaping up that way."

Robertson told viewers he spent several days in prayer at the end of 2003.

"The Lord has just blessed him," Robertson said of Bush. "I mean, he could make terrible mistakes and comes out of it. It doesn't make any difference what he does, good or bad, God picks him up because he's a man of prayer and God's blessing him."

The Rev. Barry W. Lynn, a frequent Robertson critic and executive director of Americans United for Separation of Church and State, said he had a prediction of his own: "Pat Robertson in 2004 will continue to use his multimillion broadcasting empire to promote George Bush and other Republican candidates."

In a reference to Bush's political adviser, Lynn said, "Maybe Pat got a message from Karl Rove and thought it was from God."

Talk about giving Bush a free pass to do whatever he wants! "It doesn't make any difference what he does"? What kind of BS is that?

I have to say, that last line from Reverend Lynn is funny!

But, seriously, doesn't God have better things to do than talk with Pat Robertson about Dubya?

That's for sure.

But methinks Pat has read something like on this thread and obviously, he, or better his advisors, thought the train was right to jump on it.

Yeah, really, this might be just an attempt by Robertson to get his name out there again. Especially given that his own presidential ambitions have been crushed on several occassions.

But really, some will be turned off by such talk and think Robertson is actually speaking for others, which isn't the case.

If that man is a christian, doesn't he believe every person has a free will? If every person can make their own choice, I find it hard to believe God can influence an election

Just like that general Boykin who said Bush was appointed by God, not elected.

Sorry, doesn't fly with me. I would find this funny if so many people didn't actually buy this crap. I find it rather degrading to me, a Catholic. It sounds like if I don't vote for Bush, I'm going against God's will.

ah yes the very blest president Bush now if only Pat Robertson would ask God to give Bush the understanding of the English language

Bush isn't going to carry New York anyway. :p

Do people still listen to that guy? I hope not.

Anyone red chapter 17-19 in The Bible(new testament) about the doomsday thingy? (Fall of Babylon)

If I were a religious nut with a great desire to get a lot of cash and much attention in the media (and gotten many followers) I would say that Babylon was the same as USA and whoops 100000000 followers and a crapload of cash :goodjob:

Is it so hard to believe that God, Jeb or some other supernatural forces is involved in Bush winning elections? Obviously his presidency isn't based on people's choice.

I sure God uses men in power even Bush but this doesn't mean Bush is God's choice. there is no way USA would elect a man God's himself would choose. most christians vote "the lesser of two evils" and not because Bush says he is a christian ( which of course i won't judge either way)
Pat does seems to have to much faith in politics especially the republican party. but of course this is because Pat has some odd beliefs about prophecy which most in here probably doesn't know where Pat stands.

someone has already try this . there is tons of book on prophecy, angels , demons, and over 200 english translations of the bible just to make more money. I personnally doesn't fool with reading many of the books.
P.S. anyone who truely study the bible know that most of the chapters of Revelation deals with the 70th week ( of years) of Daniel so most all verses after chapter 4 hasn't happen yet. We are living in the church age of chapter 2 & 3 not the trib. ( example : the number 666 has no meaning to us today. it just like 667,668,etc.)

Pat Robertson isn't God. So I'll go against his (notice the small h) will. :p

And you're right about New York. The only Republicans we elect are crazy people for Albany.

Is it just me or does Robertson get nuttier every year?

It's not just you. Rev. Robertson has gone far beyond the fruitcake level of nuttiness.

God has come to us in the form of a Bush before. Then we spend forty years in the desert. Hey that means we should be out of Iraq by 2042!!! Can't wait.

Well, it only makes news because its a conservative Christian proclaiming a Divine endorsement of a nominally conservative man. If it were the head of the Episcopal Church in the USA giving an endorsement to Dean, Kerry, or Kucinich, nobody would give a flying fornication.
