Bush is a Good Dude

On rare occassion, I hear people make pronouncements like this. But I have trouble finding anyone able to elaborate on that statement. Few Bush apologists are still up to the task of offering a defense of his policies and have retreated to an undefined "good dude" position. So what, exactly, does this mean? Flesh out this "Good dude" argument. Perfection? The floor is yours.

Well brainpan seems to think that if someone is a bad prez he must be a bad dude, now I'll grant that generally a requirement for being a good prez is being a good dude, but you can be a bad prez and a good dude.

An example of this would be the invasion of Afghanistan. A good idea in principle, but he fudged it up.

He might be a good person, but a crappy president.

Maybe invading Afghanistan was a good thing to do and he did this out of the goodness in his heart, or of the goodness that makes him a "good person".

However, he would be a bad president because he fudged up invading Afghanistan. Get the picture?

nah, good dude is a pretty vague term. I suppose you could throw some words like "moral" and "ethics" in there if you wanna.

Well, it's more then once. But generally only good dudes get the presidental position

Well people keep slaggin' him like he's some sorta monster n' stuff but he's not evil or nothin' so he dun deserve it.

I agree. Jimmy is a perfectly nice guy and a peanut farmer (which, as an anti-conventional agriculture vegetarian myself - I appreciate). Peanuts fix nitrogen -- that's N2 (not NO3 [nitrate] or NH4 [ammonium]) or N2O [nitrous oxide]... so I don't confuse anyone -- naturally and they are a great source of protein.

However, he (Jimmy, I mean) was a crappy (maybe the crappiest in recent decades) president and has clearly lost his mind in recent years.

George Bush seems like a good dude, even if he has mis-stepped and mis-spoke his presidency into infamy. You want reasons? Well, he never ate a baby... Seriously, I think he is doing what he thinks is best for the US and the world. He might not always be effective, but I believe his motives are genuine (democracy will save the world). Though, I would not want to have a beer with him - he's quite obviously not an intellectual.

Tax cuts. Contrary to popular belief, not only the rich got tax cuts. I got one and I bought new house funiture with it.
