Hello everyone!
I don't own any DLC's, but I'm thinking about getting some. Which do you think are best for a first buy?
I have G+K, so I have Spain's down.

People say that Inca is a great civ, but I don't have it. So, I would suggest you buying Korea. It's a really great civ.

the DLCs that i hear people like the least are Polynesia and Denmark and Cradle Map packs. Any of the others are just fine. I have them all now and I even like Denmark and Polynesia now.

Im not a scenario player so if you like them im not sure which ones are better.

Also, Steam always has a big Christmas sale so you could wait for them at a discount.

The strongest of the DLC Civs are Inca, Korea, and Babylon
----

But as Hammer Rabbi says - if you wait for a sale you can buy them all at 50%-75% discount.

My suggestions are. Wait for it wait for it wait for it....................................ALL OF THEM THEY ARE ALL AWESOME I OWN ALL!

Depends on what kind of play style you want, but ultimately I'd say pick them all up if you have the extra dosh. I really like Korea for the science bonus they get, but really they are only good for Science Victories.

if you ever have an interest in multi player or stuff like Game of the Month it's best to have them all since you may not be able to play each game without the DLCs. having all the DLCs means more inclusion in the games started by other people.

They`re all good to watch- except maybe Boudica, whom has a silly animation.

Funny thing with me is I don`t get the Civs to play them. I get them just to see the cool leaders and to increase the chance of meeting someone different. I only ever play England. The sad thing abut that is I never see Elizabeth`s Leader animations.

I do wish that if you chose and customised a Civ, then you could still see the original Civ Leader in game.

The only Civ I don`t have is Korea because that wasn`t in the GOTY or G&K. :(

I feel like Polynesia adds a lot to the game, even as opponents. They've often explored the world long before anyone else gets the chance. Denmark will also be an interesting post-patch addition.

If you haven't gotten Mongolia yet (it's still free, right?), you should.

Also, the Wonders of the Ancient World add a lot to early gameplay. I wish they'd do another wonder pack, personally.

TBH I really dislike the fact that they included wonders as a DLC, since it actually changes gameplay. New Civs as DLC - well that's totally OK with me. It's just a flavour afterall. But not the wonders. Having the wonders DLC or not significantly changed your chances of getting an early wonder like the Great Library. Hence many War Academy articles that cover early gameplay tactics actually should have been written twice. One version with the Wonders DLC and one without.

I don't want to have this situation getting worse by adding even more DLCs that change the gameplay...
A "no go" for DLCs:
Techs, units, buildings etc... and yes: wonders as well.

Buy them all.

(If you like continent maps, you really like Continents Plus (comes with Denmark).)

Thanks for the advice! I'll probably wait for Christmas and buy Korea+Inca.

i'd suggest to buy them all as well (when at 50-75% discount on steam). The only thing you really don't need at all are the "cradle of civilization" maps. I didn't even buy them on offer. They are just not worth it. You really don't miss anything if you skip these.

The only DLCs I didn't buy where those that only added maps. That's 4 Cradle of Civ and 1 Explorers map packs that I didn't buy.

The Ancient Wonders and all the Civs were well worth the money.

Wait till steam christmas sale when they'll all be at 75% off, then pick them all up sans the cradle packs, unless you enjoy the sound of burning money.
