Hi Guys,

I'm going to buy a new computer. Will a Pentium G850 + HD6670 be enough to play civ 5 @ 1440*900 with highest settings?* (or @1680*1050 near to high settings)

*with normal map size
*at the end of the game
*without waiting minutes at the end of every turn

I'm not too familiar with these kind of Intel processors. Is it quad core?If so, that might help with turn times, and I would think with a quad core and just on a standard map it probably wouldn't just take too long.

With the GPU, I don't know if you'll be able to play at max settings, but it should at the least do medium settings.Maybe more than that.

A quad core will help nothing in regard to turn times.

That G850 is very good value for money for Civ5.

Civ5 framerate is not very dependent on your resolution.

The 6670 will probably be the (slower) DDR3 flavour, about on par with GDDR5 5670s and 6570s, and not good enough for high details:

If it's the GDDR5 version, it should come close to matching your requirements (without AA).

Nevertheless, it's of a generation of AMD/ATI cards that performs not very well in Civ5, the 7xxx series fares much better there.

A system with a 7750 should be only slightly more expensive, and will effortlessly manage max settings, including a high AA level.
