Don't get me wrong, I always did love Civ IV and said time and time again it was hands down the BEST of the series because it was. Well, that was until now. From what I have experienced playing all afternoon, Civ V has now surpassed it. What I am finding out with Civ V, it seems many unnecessary things from Civ IV have been removed or are more usefull. Just some of the changes I have noticed right away that I love are...

1) Groups representing a single army

2) Cities can actually defend theirselves now and do ranged attacks on enemies

3) Hexes! Of course the hexes!

4) The ruler screens, these are just AWESOME period.

5) It feels more "alive" can't figure out why just yet

6) Civics which require culture points, good idea

7) Global happiness, another good idea

There are MANY more things but I am going to go play the game some more before it gets too late. Oh and no worries, the darn game is just as or more addictive as the rest of them. Which is why I have this problem now and need to get off the forum asap so I can play a bit more and get some sleep tonight.

Last thing, some of you guys (and reviews) are killing me with the pretty screenshots! My comp can't max the game out, I can only run on medium settings as of now. Looks like I am going to upgrade just to run Civ V. I am one who bought a $1200 laptop during Civ 4 release just to play it.

While it's beginning to look as if strategist nutters are never 100% satisfied and prefer to complain than let be, I'm glad someone here actually really likes the game.

It's the first time I have played a game of Civilization and actually wanted to finish the game since CivII. I'm very happy with it.
