Has there been any major changes to combat mechanics lately?

I've only just recently gotten the most recent version of C2C after using the old version I got from the download center about a year ago, and loaded up a game of mine after updating. I hit ctrl-shift-T to recalculate the modifiers, but... Ever since updating I've been having abysmal odds in combat. I know luck has a lot to do with it and I avoid engaging in battles with odds less than 70%, but over the course of five turns I've lost almost two dozen battles that had 80 - 96% odds in my favor. The worst example of this was flat rocky terrain, and I lost a series of 3 82 ~ 87% battles and then two 92% battles in a row before winning two 35% battles immediately after.

I get attacked by the AI, and after sacrificing several catapaults and having my archers bombard, I throw my whole stack at theirs. I did win yes, but I ended up losing a 96% battle, several 70%'s, and the usual coinflip 50 ~ 60 battles.

I was not having odds like this before updating, and rarely in standard BTS or other mods, so I was wondering - am I just really having terrible luck in this game, or are the combat odds not reflecting properly for one reason or another?
I don't play with the advanced Combat Odds BUG option so I don't see what all is going on behind the scenes besides the usual modifiers for strength and foritfying and etc, so it may be that the basic/simple view isn't displaying an accurate view? Or maybe I'm just paranoid XD

I'm just asking because when I updated I did see a lot of extra info pertaining to combat and etc in the Civopedia and on unit descriptions, and then I started repeatedly losing battles with odds heavily in my favor. I'm assuming this is just coincidence? Or is this a side-effect from loading a veeeery old version's save file with the most recent version?

First of all... this should go in the bug reports section.
Second... no combat process adjustments have been made in a while.
Third... watch your combat log to see how the flow of battle went.

Don't have reason to believe there's anything amiss in the battle codes but if I keep hearing things like this it'll warrant taking a look. Sometimes you can just have a string of bad luck.

1) Right, just wasn't sure if it was truly a bug or not - but I'll be sure to better place my questions in the future.

3) Will do. I'll keep an eye on the combat logs the next time I'm having strings of very good or very bad luck.
Most of this game has been miserable odds since I updated half-way through, so I'm hoping it's just miserable fortune on my part and not something going screwy behind the scenes. ^^;
*edit* Checked the combat logs after losing a battle now... Before attacking it said I had 81% odds to win, so I went ahead and made the attempt. After cleaning up the barbarian Atlatist I tried to attack, the Combat Logs showed I had a 6% chance to win - not 81%.
A second battle showed 96% odds for me, and after losing the combat log showed 46%. A third battle showed 90% and after I won it showed 90% in the Combat Logs.

I'm guessing it's just a display issue then.

Odds will now change from one round to the next depending on how the battle goes. As units are damaged, they don't fight as well... their strength decreases mid-battle as they are injured. So that's why a few unlikely rounds at the beginning can really throw things off as the battle progresses. Also, if you're attacking cities that have trap buildings, you can end up injured before you begin and that will influence the odds too. There should be a warning letting you know this is possible (on the combat help hover) before deciding to attack. Now... that said, I apparently do need to take notice of how the odds are processing - there may be some things amiss there.

SVN6747
The Buildings BUILDING_CHRISTIAN_MONASTERY, BUILDING_CHRISTIAN_TEMPLE and BUILDING_JEWISH_MONASTERY had the Tag ConstructCondition twice.

SVN6748
The TRAIT_POLITICIAN now gives double production then constructing BUILDING_POLIS_COUNCIL.
The TRAIT_FOREIGN now gives double production then constructing BUILDING_FREE_PORT.
The ProductionTrait tag for these two was added outside the ProductionTraits tag in SVNRev 2973 and in SVNRev 4808 ProductionTraits was replaced by BuildingProductionModifierTypes so they got lost.

SVN6749
Changed the Replacement System to also update the replacements then loading or starting a game.
The GAMEOPTION_LS612_TRAITS is working now.
Made the GAMEOPTION_UPSCALED_BUILDING_AND_UNIT_COSTS visible because it is working now.
But i don't know how good they are balanced.
