As far as I can tell the discussion was about the option in BUG on storms. They cause problems both because they show unexplored terrain and because they stay around a long time. The storm event has no graphic with it as far as I know. If it does then yes it should go.

9656

- Fixed a bug that was preventing the Lunar Rover from working properly
- New tech quote for Controlled Vacuum Collapse
- Various adjustments and rebalancing for space buildings.

It was discussed here: Link
Spirictum, TB and Joe agreed with me that it should be removed, so I didn't think it would need further discussion.
I'll bring it back if you have a strong opinion about it. You have veto in my book.

When storms are optional, why remove them totally ? I think they stay a bit too long sometimes but bring nice or less nice surprises. It doesn't make sense to remove them when they are optional and everyone who does not like them, can choose to play without them. I'm sure there are people who like them so this decision seems really weird and rushed.

9657
  • Fixed a python error I overlooked in my last commit.
  • Tweaked sugar and tobacco placement rules a bit to make them a bit more likely to be placed on the map.

The complaint came up repeatedly in the MP games regarding how many ships (and loaded units) were being lost due to these events without any means to recover them. Besides, a new dynamic will be replacing the need for such events at some point fairly soon.
It can only be one ship per player in any one turn with events. If it is happening to often then there are not enough other events to choose from.

This is True DH no denying that. But when it's picking off a ship almost every turn and the ships are staging for an invasion, then losing 5 War galleys and a Galley in 10 turns really kills the fleet. And it spawns right over a critical sea tile that is the gateway to the targeted area. Bad luck I know. :p :cringe:

Oh and I did n't mention that the Illyrian Pirates spawned about the time this series of Storm shipwrecks started. So I have 2 "enemies" plus the Storm chewing on my fleet. How's That for bad luck! :crazyeye::rolleyes::gripe:

9658

- Added two new units: Satellite and Mission Reward (Low Earth Orbit). This is part of a larger plan to enhance space exploration in the late Atomic and Information Eras.
- Removed the old Mars colonies that were built on Earth. This corrects a bug that causes several blank Great Wonders to appear in the Civilopedia.
- Tweaked Sputnik.

After SVN 9654 the Save game compatibility is giving this error pop up during initialization:
"Save Format is not compatible due to missing class
SPECIALBUILDINGS_GROUP_ANCIENT_WAYS"

This appears to affect all save games made prior to 9655. Save game compatibility seems to have been broken.

Nope, I've updated the SVN and my game ran.

All I can say is that I got the pop up on 2 of the 4 SVN versions between 9654 and 9658. If it's irrelevant now for 9658 then why does SO's game stop working when I tried to play it on svn 9658? But played fine on 9564? I don't know.

When was your game started? I.E. what SVN version?

I updated through that without problem. I started my current game on 9633, it's on 9657 now and I didn't have any problems.

Not sure what's going on in my game, but I'm receiving about 100 to 200 gold per turn despite having earnings in the negatives. Save file provided.
Thanks for the save game! But this is not the thread for these type posts.

Please, this thread is for Modder updates to the SVN (and modder discussion of those updates). All other posters need to use the Bug thread or General Disccusion thread. Thank you again.

Lots before 9654. I should check what the number of version actually was.

9659 Further Tweaks to all Game Speeds and Initial City Maint cost.

Just keep the storms optional and solve the problem that way ?
