C3C Crack!

Hi to all, I've been around these forums for the last year or so, squeezing in time to feed my C3C addiction on an old IBM laptop I keep solely for that purpose.

Anyway I've felt the urge to participate a bit lately and say hello.

In the past I've played up until middle ages, things fell apart, or I was unhappy with my starting play. I have yet to finish more than 1 game

Right now I've got a game going as Russia on Regent. I've been reading and drilling the opening game so hard though that this level actually feels too easy... I'm cultural powerhouse and dominate most of my continent. I'm on the cusp of finishing the Middle Ages, and picking up war with the English again to secure more of the north part of my continent. I am waiting for Cossacks.

My plan is to take the handful of cities they have left, then continue to focus on building. I'm not sure if I am going for a UN vote or for conquest yet. I am going to focus on building and tech until I get to Replaceable parts and see how things are then. If I feel I can quickly take out France and Germany, I will and see from there. Sumeria is the only other super power on the Standard map. Everyone is polite/gracious. Well except Elisabeth, she is furious still even after gifting excess ivory and gems and techs at various times since the first war.

Anyway, Love the write ups people place here. They are super entertaining and as fun to read through as to play myself! Hopefully I will be able to contribute some of my own down the road.

Well the game is going well, and this marks my first time past the Middle Ages

I am still trailing Sumeria somehow, even though they are 5 techs behind.

I have finished Smiths and JS Bachs and begin mass production of cossacks, and also invdaded England. Had to declare war, and drew in Germany and France in behind me. I gave some techs to them for the alliance and lots of gpt. Getting rich at 70% science, 0% ent and just about all luxs coming in or already controlled.

Sacked two most southern cities of England without much resistance and a third to the north. Taking Leeds soon which will give me furs. Made the mistake of sending a small stack via caravel to the north east (other side of island as conquests), and two are damaged. Trying to withdrawn to Caravel and let them heal at sea, meanwhile the main Cossack arm continues to meet them.

I was thinking diplo but with the power and wealth I am feeling capable of a conquest, especially with Germany and France (other two that share continent) so far behind in tech and military. I feel it is now of never. Mass building galleons and all cossack construction, which will eventually bare down the south onto German and French lands. German is a necessary target. They cities in my territories and also have coal, which I do not.

keep going The industrial ages are the best time for war. Early industrial with cav armies flying down railroads, and late industrial with stacks of tanks rolling over cities, or a dozen transports crossing the ocean with half a dozen tanks inside

That was my thought, ancient and middle ages is just too slow to do anything more than short wars.

Short wars? Short wars?! Why, the Ancient Age is the only time in this game when it's even POSSIBLE to have thousand-year wars!

England has been vanquished, and Sumeria across the pond ins annoyed and wont budge. I continue trading them iron for four spices, incense, silk. I may cut them off soon.

Meanwhile I continue mass production and hoarding income. I have a stack of 30+ Cossacks on the southern border ready to charge into Germany and get the only coal on our continent. I have two smaller stacks in the north. They have 4 English cities from an early war in the middle of my territory that will be blitzed quickly. Riflemen in most cities besides the recently conquered north. Electricity just finished, still in tech lead, and on my way to replaceable parts. My immediate goal is to destroy Germany, and then decide if Spain can stay on my continent or not. I do not want to stay in war much longer, and I do not want to war on other continents. After Germany is destroyed I will focus on infrastructure, improvements, wonders and relations, shooting for UN victory or culture victory.
