A fairly normal epic game.

Standard sized Pangea, 30-40% land, 5 humans, 3 to 5 monarch AI's (on the overcrowded side, but low difficulty enough for the tech pace to be reasonable), any civ allowed. Barbs at sedentary or roaming, agressivity at average, climate random.

I'll try and get someone to tweak us up a map - for fair starts and resource shuffling, mainly. Maybe AI buff ...

Roster is full, thank you very much.

Roster:
- Blarst -------- Persia
- Soul_warrior -- Russia (random)
- sercer88 ----- Maya (random)
- GreyGamer --- India (random religious)
- Beorn -------- Mongol (random)
- Tar-Mithanga - Hitties (random)
- Random AI's

Note: I randomed starts and took the first civs it gave me to fill in the random spots.

Will update with emails and stuff.

Spoiler stuff in post 25 :
  • I don't expect/wish to have to refer to these rules, ever.
  • I expect to see some GPS to PlayerX action in this thread
  • I expect everyone to be able to play within 24 of a GPS post, unless you can't, in which case announcing it would be very nice
  • 20 turn peace deals should be solid and never broken, any other in-game 20 turns deal breaks should be announced prior to the breaking player's turn by the faulty player. War should be announced before you enter the defender's lands so the defender has a turn to move his defences.
  • No intentionnally breaking trade routes for this to happen by self or by a co-operating 3rd party. Wear the pants you put on.
  • No scorched earth tactics to deny capture or make one's life miserable. No razing wonder cities.
  • Only dogpile someone if he/they really pissed you all off.
  • City trades in peace deals are ok but otherwise keep your citizens.
  • Peace should be offered after the capture of a capital city if the defender had at least 5 or more cities to begin with. The price for peace must be at most 50% of the remaining cities (the new capital can be the other 50%). The defender is allowed to refuse. The attacker avoiding the capital is definitely incentive for the aforementioned "pissing off" of other civs.
  • Trade maps at your own risk, I certainly don't advise you do beside with the in-game trade.
  • Report combats by PM or email; examples:

    Santiago, from NW:
    4/4 horse v 3/3 spear > 2/4 horse
    5/5 horse v 3/3 spear > 2/3 spear retreat
    3/4 sword v 2/3 spear > 1/5 sword capture

    Settler pair North of Barcelona:
    4/4 Jav v 3/3 spear > 1/4 jav, 1 worker enslaved
    5/5 ACav v 4/4 Archer > 2/5 ACav, 2 workers captured

Jackass :p

"Commander B-E-F, this is Sercer speaking.
I am here to check in."

now, for the details: I think the settings are fine...and a random civ is fine for me.

Ok... I suck at Pengea, but there must always be a last. :)

oh, c'mon...do you really go into a pbem thinking you'll be LAST??? :wow:

Alright, full :D

GG confirmed last, by PM, but I can't just leave him out after last game's Babel tower thingy. So we'll start out as 6. On an overcrowded Pangea, there will be some natural selection though ...

Still looking for a mapmaker. Map making instructions can be found >here< for anyone who'd care to look. Will post a request when Tar's civ is confirmed. For the others, I just rolled random starts with random civ and it gave me russia-maya-maya-mongol-maya-india-hitties so I plugged india for religious and the others in order. If you want a random one and haven't read up to this point, Tar, that'd put you as hitties, though you could want to pick or ask a repick.

Rule proposal: to increase start speed, we could ask Mr Mapmaker for a 2nd starting settler (for everyone, AI's included) to reduce the amount of dumb enter-hitting at start.

no objections here... :mischief:

Yeah :) It's a shame no one has been able to created a quick start mod giving the option of 1 or 2 starting towns and possibly a settler.

We have a maker, we're waiting on Tar's civ.

KillerCane will PM you guys the passwords. Please share your emails by PM as well right now so it is done when the game goes on.

J, that avatar is gross :p and dude enable your PM's so you can be sent your password and the other guys' emails.

Play ball!

Sheesh, I blink and miss this one getting started - If anyone needs a replacement keep me in mind. (unless there's still room to squeeze in another tribe)

They seem to be enable.
And come on have some respect for Civ1 !
Its not at all because I have no clue how to put a custom avatar that I choose it.

@Blarst: You need 30 posts to choose a custom avatar, it should be really obvious when it's enabled. Spam some in the mean time

@Soul: the usual old one

@denyd: a shame indeed, we planned 5 but stretched to 6, 7 would make it really long to go around. The oxen can only be so slow on any given patient earth ;)

Will definitely keep you in mind :)

Thanks for the consideration

BTW: Where should I be checking to make sure that I don't miss the next one that comes along?

I have a long enough memory to remember to PM you :)

Most people let the whole world know by posting in this thread. So, I would either check it often, or even subscribe to it by 1) posting in there, or 2) (in case you didn't know...) check for a "thread tools" tab near the top right corner of the Explorer window, and select "subscribe to this thread."
