... well I tried... you sure it was not in V? I do remember people complaining they could not before.

I don't think it was V but I'll check when I get a chance. I'm sure I remember sailing a sub under ice at some point. Could it have changed in one of the patches? *edit* I just checked and they can in V. It's such a late unit and I go under ice so infrequently that it's easy to get confused.
