hello all, im trying to civ3 conquest working on steam, but it just shows me a black screen with the windows loading cursor, is there a fix to this?
can anyone help?

Just from your description, it sounds like the game might be having a problem playing the introductory movie. This often causes conflicts on modern computers with high-def, widescreen monitors (because the game itself tries to temporarily adjust the default screen-res, just to play the movie).
To deactivate this, locate your 'conquests.ini' file in your Steam-installation (you might need to set Windows Explorer to "show file extensions"), open the .ini file in a text-editor, and add a new line
anywhere in that list.

i have good news, i managed to get it working but now i need to fix the problem with the ANIMNAME, on this unit graphic. i made sure to enter it right but it isnt working.
