Can civ2 2.42 run on a netbook pc?

The netbooks have an unusual display size, and no CD.

I know that there are cd emulators, so that part of the problem may be resolved.

I do not know if civ2 can handle unusual monitor sizes.

I would love to have a more portable netbook(vs. a laptop) to play civ2 while travelling.

I would be most interested if someone is doing this, and on which netbook.

it will support it just fine, civII runs windowed not full screen
