Can I still win this round?or should I throw towel

Short version Im in a situation that Babylon is rolling another continent and like always Babylon is imba when left unchecked.They outtech me a whole era and got 30,000 gold.And Im still defending myself against another civ that have bettter unit as well.


OK. Im playing the Incas civ on Prince.I think I did a bit wrong because Incans are warlike but I start amassing troop pretty late because I feel like going with culture. So I did'nt expand much.

There were African and German as my Neighbours.Also English and Korean in the same continent.

German decided to attack first with their mass specail pikemen but I stomp him at Renaissance era.Raze some of thier city since they are too close to each other.

Fastfoward to late Renaissance era others civ from another continent start contacting.I found that Babylon are the top dogs.

Also English who nabbed some city during medival era from Korea start invading Afrika who happen to a civ before me. After some turn English decide to declare war on me too.

I decided to make a stand at Afrika land but found out that English already outtech my unit (I have rifleman, Afrika still have musketman, English have Infantry and artillery )

Then I found that Babylon are rolling other civ and rackup a lot of wonders and coin. Last time I check they got about 30,000 gold in reserve.Which they spend on City-State.

At this point I really doubt if I can topple Babylon.Because if they got another golden-age its mean there no way that I can outdone them in spaceship project for sure.Even if I focus on culture I don't think they can just stomp me with thier Death-robot if they want to.

It's difficult to say for sure without a save of your game.

However, the AI is notoriously bad sometimes at finishing off a game... sometimes you can be well behind in science, yet still win the space race... doesn't happen every time though!

Depending on what other civs are around, and how powerful they are, will depend on other courses of action too. Sometimes it's easier just to take out the capital cities.

How much cash have you got? Can you afford a Diplomatic Victory?

Unless you have a mod to tell you, it's often difficult to know exactly where another AI civ is.

Also, it's often worth finishing a game when you're losing, as often you'll learn something positive.

What VC were you aiming? Culture? If so, you have too many cities. 1-4 is enough. You should puppet other cities. You should go for science victory. The AI doesn't priorize SS parts. Sign RA:s with everybody and hope for the best. That's all you can do. If you are close to utopia, go for it. In prince, culture should easily be ready at 1900, science even earlier.

Ah at this point I think. I can still win if captured all those CS and block diplomatic victory.
About the number of city. Seems like I already over expanded because there were vital resources.
That are near the edge of my territory.

You need, ideally, 3 or 4 cities for a cultural win... the more over that you go, the harder you make it for yourself.

Once you had gone over that, you should have crushed your own continent, as soon as possible, using discretion to decide whether to annex, puppet or raze. Don't keep them for the sake of it, be picky... and if they are no good, raze them!

Your best chance now is probably to make as much progress as you can while beelining Bombers, then Stealth Bombers... then attack the capitals of the remaining civs.

I suspect Persia will get a Science, Cultural or Domination victory first though...

Next game, try concentrating on science, and trying to keep ahead of the AI civs... this is the most important aim to do, then, when you have more experience, you will be able to move up the levels...

How many of your cities did you puppet as opposed to annexing? A large puppet empire can be very good for a culture win. Unless they changed something while I was away and made puppets increase the culture you need per policy.
