Can more than one Civ pledge to protect a City State? If so, what's the point of pledging to protect a City State, besides the slight increase in resting point influence? In the few times I have used it, it has always risked me going to war with another Civ when they demanded tribute from one of my CS.
If pledging to protect a CS deterred other Civs from Allying with that Civ, though, then that's a huge reason to use it. But I don't think it does that? Or do some players use it as a reminder as to which CS they want to eventually Ally with? I've seen players on YouTube pledge to protect a CS when they want to later Ally with them, and they seem to primarily use it as a reminder for themselves.
