Can scenarios use mapscripts?

Just looking to save myself wasting time trying to do something that can't be done.

Can scenarios use a mapscript, or can it only use WB created maps?

Also, are there any tutorials available that specifically focus on scenario creation? I have little extra time available, so I would rather expedite the process by learning how to do it properly from someone else, rather than the lengthy process of trial and error.
