Can`t update Directx to 9.0c

Has anyone encountered this problem? It just weird. When I click, it runs but nothing happend. Finally it says (few seconds only), files has been updated and ready to use. And, no need to restart too. When I check, it still the old 9.0b . Hmmm.... What to do now?

I can`t play 2 new games due to this problem.

are you getting it off of the CD or from Microsoft.com?

Both ways. I use the sims 2 cd which include 9.0c and download it from microsoft website but failed.

Btw, It happen after I updated my XP pro to SP2. Shouldn`t be a problem right?

have you uninstalled DX completely before trying to install 9.0c?

i'm kind of surprised they're already developing with c

No, DX can`t be uninstalled. Hmmm.... What should I do? Uninstalled XP SP2 maybe? And yes, 9.0c is now available. NFSU2 and The Sims 2 need it. Both of which I can`t play after updating my XP to SP2.

i tried updating to 9.0c from 9.0b but i get the same problem. i'll try what you did.

I Just DL it now. No problems so far. Need to restart thne computer.

did you have XP Service Pack 2 before you installed 9.0c
