<??> Can you enable BNW mid-game?

I and a few friends have started a game of Civ5 G&K, this is because all of us but one have BNW. If the last person who doesn't own it buys it, can we then enable it as a DLC midgame? And will it actually apply the changes to our game?

No, savegames with different expansions won't be compatible, the game will always switch back to G&K-only.
Same goes for mods.
