Before when i played it kept my game settings , not my advanced settings though. Can i get it to remember the basic settings? not sure why it used to on my old PC but no anymore, or even better the advanced settings?

Just when i start a game i sometimes restart upto 10 times till i see a starting position i like and doing the settings each time is a pain .

Wish they still had the option to re-create the map.

You can save the map. I beleive when you pull up the main menu while you are playing
there is an option to save the map. When you start a new game go to advanced options,
and you can choose that particular map. I don't think advanced options can be saved though.
That would be a nice option.

You can manually edit the config.ini file.
Looks like the advanced settings are about 70% of the way down

You can save the map, but then the start positions are not saved with it.
As long as you haven't started up a new game the 4000BC autosave of your game will still be there. This is the map + start position.

To make the game remember your basic settings you need to start up a game using this basic setup. This means no mods, no advanced setup.
Once you've started a game up with basic setup you can go back and choose mods and whatever you like and your previous settings will be remembered.

It's not ideal. I would certainly appreciate a button 'remember these settings' for the advanced choices as well.
